1/5 I first read Target magazine in grade 5 in 1986. And it became an integral part of my growing up years in a remote town near Jamshedpur, where TV had not spread its tentacles yet.
I kept reading Target through rest of my school years... Till entrance exams took up all my time
For @the_hindu, I wrote about what summer holidays looked like for 80s children, where all we had was the great outdoors and endless time

From Target magazine August 1987 π 10 yo Pramod Nanjappa gets to see a movie every Sunday (probably on Doordarshan) and hence wants more Sundays in his life . I guess he will have no more complaints with @YouTubeIndia and @netflixindia beaming 24*7 content now. #nostalgic#80s
From the pages of Target Oct'88 issue. Letetrs to the editor from Target readers. Wonder if then 16 yo Deepa Shenoy continues to hold the sportsmanship spirit high. #nostalgia#80s
From the pages of Target January 1989...strange to look at new year resolutions when that year is so much in the past. Did @babubasu quit smoking as he resolved to in 1989π? #nostalgia

Go well Sir. You touched so many kids in the 80s with your work. Your family must be really proud of what you've left behind as legacy, especially for kids. The content you created for @Target80s readers like me have such wonderful memories associated with them

From the pages of a Target 1989 issue. Celebrating the bravery of Rashmi from Baroda, & Ajita from Bastar, who would have won the children bravery award that year.
I've begun to value serendipity so much considering how much and how well it's worked in my life. One story. I used to read Target, the mag as a kid. & there was a profile of a person S (who must have been in her 20s) when I was 13-14ish. Something about her eyes - shone bright.
