My king for a day plan:
NATO must reaffirm its commitment to deterrence and take decisive action in response to Russian aggression. A clear and immediate step would be to integrate all non-Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory into NATO, thereby solidifying its security under the alliance’s collective defense framework. This move should be accompanied by a firm deadline for Russia to withdraw from the remaining occupied areas, after which those territories would also be incorporated into NATO, restoring Ukraine’s pre-invasion borders.
Additionally, a structured timeline—perhaps within five years—should be established for Russia to fully vacate all regions annexed in 2014. At the conclusion of this period, these areas should be officially recognized as Ukrainian territory under NATO protection. Without such a firm stance, Ukraine, NATO, and its allies will continue to negotiate from a position of weakness, allowing Russia to dictate terms and prolong instability.
Yes, such a course of action involves complexities within NATO doctrine, but those complexities should not be used as an excuse for inaction. If the alliance truly perceives Russia as a strategic threat, then it must demonstrate the resolve to act accordingly. Failing to do so will only validate Putin’s belief that NATO is unwilling to confront aggression and lacks the political will to uphold its own principles.
@TheDeeVoShow I like the SEPTA rule of thumb but I have always just kind of thought anything inside the blue route and PATPK is Philly burbs on the PA side. NJ a little harder to define with roads.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces began launching self-defense strikes against Iran at 5 p.m. ET today at the Commander in Chief’s direction, in response to yesterday’s downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter. The mission is a proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression.
BREAKING: Trump's meeting in Situation Room lasted two hours, but did not reach a final decision regarding deal with Iran, according to New York Times report.
President Donald J. Trump has announced via Truth Social that the U.S. is sending an additional 5,000 troops to Poland following the election of his endorsed candidate, Karol Nawrocki. The move would further expand the U.S. military presence on NATO’s eastern flank amid ongoing security concerns in Eastern Europe and the war in neighboring Ukraine. It remains unclear whether these forces would come from the 5,000 U.S. troops previously slated for withdrawal from Germany or represent an overall increase in American troop levels in Europe.
MLS is poor at attracting American soccer fans who wake up every Saturday morning at 7am to watch hours of European football, and that’s an audience they need to capture in this country.
The last thing they should do is make the sport unrecognizable to the rest of the world.
