@_thisisscotland@AvantiWestCoast It is against the conditions of travel, to travel short on an advanced ticket. But when a TOC took someone to court over it, I think the judge famously said something like, ‘are you telling me I can’t go into a pub, buy a pint and only drink half of it, if I so choose?’
@nw_nicholas Did you miss the memo, Count Binface has asked his supporters to place a bin in the street, (any colour), but just for one day of each week.
@Iskra1234@alexhornbyrail@northernassist It gets a blanket cancellation, as in they don’t cancel one train they decide the Yorkshire Flyer will not run at all for a whole day at a time. Agreed it is not disruptive to cancel as it’s the 51 mins @Sheffield alternative at 48mins and it’s 22 @westgate, alternative at 18mins
@UU_Ess_Pee I was probably a bully yesterday, young lad said his phone battery was flat, so I lent him my charger. Turns out he had 60% battery but no ticket.
@GarethCeredig@CrossCountryUK Any ‘new’ carriage would be added to a train with maybe 15 years left before scraping. Joining 2 units together is an option, but that requires spare trains, with additional train manager, catering staff etc and when connected these no way to pass from one to the other.
@GarethCeredig@CrossCountryUK The answer is quite complicated those trains are at least 25 years old, they are fixed formations - not a locomotive and some carriages like an old fashioned train. Not impossible to make them longer but extremely expensive, many millions per carriage, the economics don’t work.
@Dan_1200RT@GirlGiada@marksandspencer Erm, what do you think they do with the boy cows (and boy goats for that matter) that don’t produce milk, release them into the wild, pay to feed them (plus vet bills) and keep them as pets?
@northernassist This is the only northern service, its hourly, Mersey rail do not oporate in the Sheffield area. I left Meadowhall on the late 12.27 hoping to connect with the 13.14 Sheffield to dore and Totley. Thanks
