Tesla has been working hard toward shipping Full Self-Driving (Supervised) in Europe for over 12 months now. We have given FSD demos to regulators of almost every EU country. We have requested early access, pilot release programs or exemptions where possible.

We have developed & shared detailed safety evidence for FSD, now public in our latest Safety Report. And we have driven over 1 million kilometers safely on EU roads across 17 different countries (internal testing). 

Our main path to success is partnering with the Dutch approval authority RDW to gain exemption for the feature. This involves proving compliance with existing regulations (UN-R-171 DCAS) + filing an exemption (EU Article 39) for yet-to-be-regulated behaviors like Level 2 systems off-highway, system-initiated lane changes with hands-off the wheel etc. 

Some of these regulations are outdated and rules-based, which makes FSD illegal in its current form. Changing FSD to be compliant with these rules would make it unsafe and unusable in many cases. While we have changed FSD to be maximally compliant where it is logical and reasonable, we won't sacrifice the safety of a proven system or materially deteriorate customer usability. 

As a result, we are gathering evidence to get exemptions on a specific rule-by-rule basis. Unfortunately, the real world fleet-proven safety wins alone are considered insufficient. 

Currently, RDW has committed to granting Netherlands National approval in February 2026. Upon NL National approval, other EU countries can immediately recognize the exemption and also allow rollout within their country. Then we will bring it to a TCMV vote for official EU-wide approval.

Just returned from a trip to Japan. In truth, I think modern Tokyo is one of the great accomplishments in civilizational history. It is the apex city.

There are 40 million people living there with extremely high levels of *justified* social trust.

It's incredibly clean, orderly, and safe, and yet it doesn't feel totalitarian--at least not if you behave yourself like a civilized person. The respect for individual freedom is clear and visible.

Reaching such high levels of social harmony would be an accomplishment for a single neighborhood, but Tokyo happens to the biggest city in the world. The sheer size alone is unbelievable--the infrastructure alone boggles the mind--and yet it's coupled with ultra-high levels of social harmony. There's nothing else like it.

Truly, it gives me some pride as a human. What an incredible thing we've accomplished.

@thsottiaux I had the problem before computer history was enabled (EU). Also I was using some screen captures for guidance but not generating any images. So does not feel like you have yet found the real problem.

The downfall of OpenAI limits needs to be studied.

They went from the best usage in AI to the worst.

One day of GPT 5.6 Sol on a $200 Pro plan and my entire week was gone.

This used to be the company that never made you think about limits. Now Codex is unusable for real work.

Minulla on kaikki vakuutukset Lähitapiolassa, näin on ollut jo kymmenen vuotta. Sain toisesta vakuutusyhtiöstä tarjouksen auton kaskosta. Se oli parisataa vuodessa nykyistä Lähitapiolan vakuutusta edullisempi. Tarkistin sen innoittamana huvikseen Lähitapiolan kampanjat, ja netistä ostettuna kasko autooni olisi noin 400€ edullisempi, kuin nykyinen hinta.

Laitoin asiakaspalveluun viestiä, että onko totta, että minun pitää ensin siirtää vakuutus toiseen vakuutusyhtiöön, jotta saan saman hinnan vakuutukselleni, kuin uusi asiakas, vaikka maksan melko paljon vakuutusmaksuja vuodessa teille.

Asiakaspalvelusta todettiin, että valitettavasti näin on.

Miksi vanhaa asiakasta, jolla on kaikki vakuutukset saman katon alla, kohdellaan näin?

Suomessa olisi kysyntää vakuutusyhtiölle, joka palkitsisi pitkästä asiakassuhteesta eikä rankaisisi siitä.

Pari sanaa kulttuurista.

Suomi on niin pieni kielialue, että kulttuurimme ei kaupallisesti pärjää ulkomaiselle kilpailulle.

Esimerkiksi kotimainen draama maksaa 100 000 euroa tunti, kun käypää ulkomaista draamaa saa 5 000 euroa tunti.

Kirjojen kirjoittaminen ei montaa suomalaista elätä. Runojen kirjoittaminen ei ainuttakaan.

Musiikissa menee paremmin, mutta sinne onkin panostettu paljon ja pitkään. Viisasta minusta.

En nyt käy läpi kaikkia taiteen lajeja, mutta tilanne on monesti sama. Ilman tukea ei synny ammattimaista ja laadukasta kotimaista kulttuuria. Silloin se korvautuu pääosin amerikkalaisella sisällöllä.

Onko tuolla väliä?

On, jos suomalaisuudella on jotain merkitystä. Ei, jos suomalaisuus on handicappi ja kuluerä josta halutaan eroon.

Moni vihaa taidetta ja erityisesti taiteilijoita milloin mistäkin syystä. Ja vaikka ei vihaa, ei silti antaisi heille sen paremmin tunnustusta kuin julkista rahaa.

Vihaajat vihatkoon mutta me muut voimme miettiä itse kukin paria kysymystä Haluatko tukea heitä jotka vievät suomalaisuutta eteenpäin? Vai haluatko käyttää rahat muuhun kivaan ja nopeuttaa luovaa tuhoa, joka syö suomalaisuuden, jos sen annamme niin tehdä?

Tiivistetysti. Sinä päätät elääkö suomalaisuus vielä 2100 -luvulla muuallakin kuin museoissa.

Not to mention, it’s pretty hot today.

The hijab is a symbol of female oppression. Even more so for underage girls.
To my knowledge, the Finnish law currently has no teeth, or ability to help in such issues.

Living in Finland should mean that your childhood is protected—ensuring you get to experience it like a Finn, with all its freedoms.
This applies to all other European countries.

People shrug this stuff off as “culture”.
Well, I don’t care.
