We have been working for 4 years with a group of volunteers, at first, to try and save the library from closure and then to try and take on the former library building. Our aim is to set up a community library that can also act as a community hub to bring Rainhill Together again
Weekends all the Rockets kids are team mates but during the school week they were rivals in a local schools football tournament representing
Longton Lane
St Bart's
St Ann's

Rainhill Rocket FC has been established on the Holt in Rainhill for 30 years
Can you see the difference between the first 26 years and the last 4
@ParishRainhill@Donna4Rainhill@Tasker4MP
Do you know what caused the difference ?
How did Rainhill Independents start?
They started with a passion to protect our greenbelt and green open spaces in Rainhill.
@RainhillSOGB
However, they soon evolved into wanting better for EVERYBODY in Rainhill with a desire to see @sthelenscouncil politics become more open, honest, transparent and accountable.
They were not manufactured, parachuted in, driven by a national party, they were born of community spirit and respect for where we live.
Being Independent doesn't change a general election result because May 7th 2026 IS NOT A GENERAL ELECTION, ITS A LOCAL ELECTION, to determine who will have the best interests of Rainhill at their heart.
It's NOT about "numbers for Nigel" or a "kicking to Kier" it's about your voice in Rainhill being heard in St Helens Town Hall amongst 5 NATIONAL political groups, driven by their own central agenda, not a Rainhill agenda.
This is NOT a general election, it's local, so vote for the people that represent you locally that are not whipped how to act for the following of their national party/group, they are there to solely represent YOU and Rainhill.

New Vets team 1st game next week 💪
It's 16 weeks today till the election and in all honestly, already, I can't wait for it to be over.
What will be will be, re elected or not, the last few years have seen me lose my Mum, nearly my Dad and I've had close friends go through horrific health scares and accidents so I know more than anything that life matters.
"Lefty Labour"
"Righty Reform"
Decisions decisions, the name calling has already begun🙈
In the next 16 weeks I will watch with amazement, disbelief and possibly sadness as some decide not to stand, others jump ship rather than go down on their own and the unpleasant nastiness of politics is played out with the usual underhanded personal insuits being thrown.
I was always told, voting nationally, it's always the party you align with but voting locally for where you choose to live should be about the person you trust to represent the community you live in.
So with that in mind I'd ask the nasty element of each political party, do what you've gotta do to feel you're campaigning but know this, if you don't mind, I'll just crack on showing up for my residents, getting the job they've asked of me done and contributing to my community and the roles i hold within SHBC, as I have done for nearly the last 7 years.
Roll on the 8th May when it's all over 👍
@Tasker4MP@ParishRainhill
You asked, we actioned 👍
Following contact from a concerned resident regarding dumped nitrous oxide cannisters on the edge of a children's playground, @Tasker4MP and I went out to clear the area today.
Our amazing teams at @sthelenscouncil would normally come out and do this but with some staff still off after Christmas, we knew we could get this done quickly to free up our teams to tackle other areas of fly tipping.
This wasn't small time personal use, there were 3 full boxes of industrial size cannisters, balloons, along with vodka bottles and surpisingly, Gaviscon bottles too! This would indicate multiple users and potentially a place of ASB if that was the site were they were used at.
We will work now with St Helens Council, Rainhill Parish Council, Torus Housing, Reach Rainhill and Merseyside Police to look at the area and the issues involved as well as try and deter further incidents by working together to secure it.

Christmas came early to open @rocketsrainhill NEW Howdens Kitchens this weekend! A great morning with the club and Rainhill Parish Council👏🏼🐓
Another one of our club’s benefiting from The Howden’s Game Changer Programme!
When the wife mentions going to a retail park and you remember you need to get a cheeky little cut in while it's so mild.
Save of the season 👏

💗 BABY LOSS CERTIFICATES💙
This is a very sensitive and emotional subject and I'm sincerely sorry if it upsets some parents, it really isn’t my intention to do that but I feel I need to share this link for all the parents who have lost a child before 24 weeks (or 28 weeks if your pregnancy ended before 1 October 1992)💗💙
I lost my baby in 2015 and for the short time I was pregnant, my baby was loved, wanted and their life was mapped out before us.
When you lose a baby before 24 weeks, you do not receive a death certificate so all you have is your positive pregnancy test and a broken heart filled with loss.
HOWEVER, If you have lost your child, you can now apply for a BABY LOSS CERTIFICATE from https://t.co/3pvWQxrUhb, using this link👇
Request a baby loss certificate - https://t.co/hVabXa2yH4 https://t.co/rOJhpWJgn5…
Please read all the information first so you are comfortable and know what to expect before applying.
I hope you find comfort from doing this and would ask you talk about this with friends, family and others as well as share the link so all parents are aware that their angel baby mattered and can be more than a memory x
