@DavidWentNomad - tried contacting you through your site & through appdirectory's license contact form, neither worked. Can't DM you here either. Can we get in touch?
@andrewjfaris Would expect things to feel slower post-promotion. We try to ignore any major spikes and compare pre-promo to post-promo to set expectations accordingly.
We also plan promos with an ICYMI offer in mind. ie 20% off + Free item. Post-offer period, ICYMI offer gives free item only.
You shouldn’t scale past $30,000/month
Unless you’re a psychopath who’s obsessed with progress
30K/mo is the sweetspot for living well and minimal stress
And it’s the max revenue you can hit as a solopreneur
You can buy or invest in almost whatever you want
Enjoy the fruits of your labor to the max
While most of your business tasks are quality checking
Anything past 30K/mo is 10x more responsibility and stress
Clients and employees breathing down your neck
12-15 hour work days
10+ more skills you need to master
All just for some extra cash
This is why I stress the importance of having a real purpose behind the pursuit of millions
You might make it to $100K/month and buy yourself that supercar
But if you’re working 12-15 work days
You’re really just gonna drive it to the gym, the office, and take a few pics with it
That’s it
Vanity is a vain mission
If you really wanna make a huge bag like that,
At least have a good reason to
Because if you don’t I promise you won’t be happy
And any other millionaire can tell you the same
@theroborourke To me, "a lot of money" is when the money itself can sustain a lifestyle. If that's 5% on $1mm and you can live on that, or it's 4% on $10mm, etc.
Most people don't know how to turn money into income, though.
New @Shopify admin is a hard miss.
• Ditched the third column quick overview
• Shifted everything to curved line graphs instead of just normal straight line graphs or bars.
• Main vs Compare color scheme is almost identical/awful for colorblind accessibility
Who tf is making UI/UX calls?
@theroborourke I don’t know how to call it or quantify it - but the ability to figure shit out.
Too many freelancers don’t do X because they don’t know how. Google it. Try. Fail. Read a book. Etc.
Maybe “educational accountability” accurately sums that up.
That’s the downfall of relying on a platform for distribution. It can be rug-pulled at any time. Look at content creators on vine, or the countless musicians who relied on MySpace for exposure.
At the end of the day, none of this belongs to us. We are promoting on borrowed infrastructure.
10 steps to becoming untouchable:
1. Be ruthless with your standards but give no fucks about anything else.
2. Admit to, embrace, & respect your fears. Everyone is afraid of something. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar or a loser.
Avoid these 3 things in your cold email messaging at ALL COSTS:
- "I'd love to"
- "Just following up"
- "My name's Andre and I'm the CEO of XYZ"
These 3 things are guaranteed to kill your momentum with prospects
Dudes in business/entrepreneur world are the biggest fucking excuse-makers I've ever seen.
"I'm gonna stop listening to music because it's easy dopamine and I need to retrain myself."
No, you just have zero self-control to the point where you even use music to procrastinate.
