Pretty simple. The right is constantly inventing totally crazy scenarios of gotcha moments that won’t happen to create a sense of hysteria.
Here are the facts:
— A trans woman has never played in the WNBA. In 30 years.
— Trans women are barred from competing in women’s sports in the NCAA and the Olympics.
— 29 states have banned trans girls participation in women’s sports K-12.
— The Supreme Court ruled states can exclude trans girls from participating in women’s sports.
Y’all won. Y’all got it. So why is the right still crying and whining about an argument that is backed by law and policy at virtually every level?
Wait, I have an answer. They want to erase trans existence period and no amount of exclusion, degradation, or denigration will ever be good enough for them.
SO they create these dumb, illogical, stupid-ass scenarios because there actually isn’t enough there for them to make a salient point. It’s fear-mongering bullshit that is designed to create a hostile environment for trans people. It’s weak.
“Because exclusion is never the answer…trans lives matter”
Beautifully said. I’ve been an advocate for the trans community since I entered the WNBA. So many takes about them are based on fear mongering and bigotry.
it’s definitely homophobia but i also think heated rivalry’s sex scenes being labeled as “pornographic” comes from their tendency to not oversaturate them with a million jump cuts and endless needle drops and it makes people uncomfortable like these scenes are incredibly intimate and make the audience sit with that
dating apps don’t work for me because i need like… a solid 10 months of friendship with increasingly weird, flirty, slightly concerning sexual tension before my brain even considers catching feeling
