This isn't a fundraising spectacle. This isn’t about theatrics or political stunts like those we see from MTG. It's about alleged violations of our nation's laws, which you, of all people, should understand:

A Fulton County grand jury in Georgia has indicted former President Donald Trump and 18 associates on 41 criminal counts related to interference in the 2020 presidential election.

The charges are serious:
- Violating the Georgia RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization) Act.
- Three counts of solicitation of violation of oath by a public officer.

The indictment also names lawyers including John Eastman, Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, Jenna Ellis, and Ray Smith, among others. All are charged with participating in a criminal enterprise in Fulton County, Georgia, and beyond, allegedly aiming to enable Donald J. Trump to unlawfully secure the presidential term that began in January 2021.

Many of the 161 acts attributed to Trump and his allies, as detailed in the Georgia indictment, are already notorious.

For example, the January 2, 2021, call where Trump pressed Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find” the 11,780 votes required to reverse his election defeat is widely known.

Trump may have sought the presidency in part as a shield against prosecution, but it appears that strategy hasn't paid off.
