One thing I’ve learned is this:

The grace on your friends can positively influence your life but not through association alone.

The Bible says, “He who walks with the wise becomes wise…” (Proverbs 13:20). Who you consistently walk with matters.

Look at Elisha. He served Elijah faithfully before receiving a double portion (2 Kings 2). Ruth stayed loyal to Naomi, and God used that relationship to position her for extraordinary favor (Ruth 1–4).

But here’s the part many people miss:

You can’t benefit from someone’s discipline while avoiding discipline yourself.

You can’t expect their consistency to replace your own.

You can’t inherit the fruit of their labor if you’re unwilling to plant your own seeds.

God often blesses us through relationships, but He still expects faithfulness, diligence, and obedience from each of us.

Choose your circle wisely, celebrate your friends’ wins, learn from them, serve faithfully and work hard.

The grace around you can inspire, sharpen, and open doors for you but you still have to walk through those doors yourself.
