At my friend Ramon’s new Italian restaurant in Lisle called Bella Notte! We visited it many times when he was in Chicago! It is the same and spectacular!! Get there! @BellaNotteLisle
5 things that are holding you back as a hitter
1. Being too hard on yourself
2. Not being grateful you get to play
3. Worrying what others think of you
4. Focusing on mechanics at the plate
5. Not having a plan when things go wrong
Instead...
Shift your focus to these 5 things—and you'll be unrecognizable in 6 months:
1. Acceptance
Your brain wants to tag everything as good or bad, but what if it's neither?
I always enjoy reading this quote:
"The desire for more positive experience is itself
a negative experience. And, paradoxically, the
acceptance of one's negative experience is itself
a positive experience"
2. Have fun
I've never met a player who played worse the more fun they had.
3. Understand you will never please everyone
10% of people won't like you no matter what you do. It's not a you problem; it's a them problem.
Do you know what hurts more than fear?
Regret.
4. Stick to your plan
Your plan will not always lead to success, but you'll increase the chances it will if you stay committed to it.
5. Build a process that is individualized for you to follow when things go south
Before you start to struggle, make a list of the things you aren't going to do when you start to feel fear creep inside of you.

Big thank you to Coach Ciombor and St. Francis Baseball for this very thoughtful gesture today. I feel very fortunate to have taught and coached at two special places, St. Francis and Wheaton North. Coaching is a brotherhood.
