Meet BWEEMS member, Tyrah Cobb-Davis! She is a masters student in geography and environmental systems at UMBC! She studies how climate change may impact flooding.
today was such a muggy day and I can only imagine how other riders felt, when are they going to turn the chillers on?
the temperatures are not ideal for passengers OR workers

Happy #EarthMonth! Thank you to our #TrillionTrees community for your continuous work toward conserving, restoring and growing 1 trillion trees by 2030! Your work will create a healthier future for people, our planet, and biodiversity!
Wangari Maathai was the first female professor in Kenya and the first African woman to be awarded the #NobelPeacePrize.
Born on this day, she was a committed environmentalist and founded the Green Belt Movement, which led to the planting of millions of trees.
It all started with a single Yes more than 100 years agoโa Yes to celebrating the trees we have and a commitment to plant more for our planet. That one Yes grew into #ArborDay and opened the door to millions of more yeses and trees planted across the globe ๐ฑ ๐ช

This is climate chaos! No one seems to care but all our cities will be flooded and under water! No
More snow days โฆ we have torrential rain and flooding days #ClimateActionNow
What do you do when youโre overwhelmed and have a lot on your plate?
My lastest technique has been avoidanceโฆbut I know I must do better to be better ๐ญ Iโve been in a funk and I think I am finally out of it
Doesnโt make up for unproductive days but itโs only up from here ๐๐ฝ
The devastating floods here at home in #Kenya have left more than 150,000 displaced. Shocking AND also why @COP28_UAE must DELIVER on adaptation.
Doubling Adaptation Finance, A global goal and Full operationalization of the Loss & Damage fund.
Iโll be at COP28 advocating for all these outcomes and more. #GlobalStocktake, #ClimateJustice #ClimateAction.

Surprise -- guess who is running for the Sierra Club? Are you a member of the Sierra Club and reside in PG County? If so, please consider voting for me to join the ExCom team.
Attended a workshop at the World Forum For Urban Forests and our group came up with the following poem to highlight the urban forests in Washington, D.C.
A big thank you to my parents for making this happen, and to Randolph College for all of the great opportunities I had the opportunity to take advantage of over the years!
Yesterday I had the privilege of being one of three alum invited to campus to be inducted into Theta Xi โ Randolph Collegeโs chapter of the Alpha Alpha Alpha National Honor Society for First-Generation College Students.
It was so great to see so many students, faculty, and staff members recognized for their achievements! We are "trailblazers, the pioneers of our families", as mentioned by a faculty inductee.
We are most definitely an inspiration to others!
๐๐ป Happy Halloween, Marylanders! ๐๐
It's time to enjoy the spookiest day of the year.
Remember that a clean and trash-free Maryland is the ultimate treat for our environment. ๐๐๐งก

Crazy to think that I decided to do @AmeriCorps during the pandemic on a whim -- I wanted to try something different and move to a new place. That experience led me to where I am now -- in the urban forestry sector!
I am still feeling inspired by all of the amazing people I had the opportunity to meet at the World Forum for Urban Forests (#WFUF23). All of the talks I attended were simply amazing.
A highlight of the conference was that I got to connect with a mentor and a peer from AmeriCorps. It was great to sit in sessions where @root_nashville was mentioned as a good, successful model on how to engage communities in urban forestry efforts.
