I left for bombay at 6.30 am like the hard working professional that I am & stopped the car at 7 am to make this reel as I’ve long realised that silence is not a virtue & one must speak up when they are disrespected. Yes if wrong things happen at any workplace that are against basic human rights, me & all of us should speak up. महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेनेच्या दीपोत्सवाचं हे अकरावं वर्ष. दरवर्षी प्रथेप्रमाणे ‘वसुबारस’च्या दिवशी ह्या सोहळ्याची सुरुवात करतो. दरवर्षी वेगवेगळ्या मान्यवरांच्या हस्ते ह्या सोहळ्याची सुरुवात होते. ह्यावर्ष��� प्रसिद्ध पटकथा लेखक जोडी ‘सलीम साहेब आणि जावेद साहेब’ ह्या दोघांच्या हस्ते दीपोत्सवाची सुरुवात झाली.

ह्या दोघांशी माझा जुना स्नेह आहे आणि दोघांना कधीही बोलावलं तरी अगदी प्रेमाने येतात.

तर, काल झालेल्या लोकार्पण सोहळ्यानंतर दीपोत्सवाला सुरुवात झाली आहे. हा महाराष्ट्र नवनिर्माण सेनेचा नाही तर तुमचा दीपोत्सव आहे. त्यामुळे मुंबई आणि आसपासच्या परिसरातील सर्वांनी जरूर या. तुम्हाला आणि तुमच्या कुटुंबियांना दिवाळीच्या खूप खूप शुभेच्छा. ही दिवाळी तुम्हाला भरभराटीची आणि प्रसन्नतेची जाऊ दे.

गेली ११ वर्ष आम्ही शिवतीर्थावर दीपोत्सव साजरा करतोय... लोकं ज्या शहरांत राहत आहेत तिथे त्यांना आनंद मिळेल असं काहीतरी देत रहावं असं मला प्रकर्षाने वाटत राहतं. त्यातलाच एक प्रयत्न दीपोत्सव. गेली काही वर्ष तर लोकं आवर्जून विचारतात की ह्या वर्षी दीपोत्सव असेल ना, तेंव्हा तर अधिकच छान वाटतं.
तर ह्या वर्षीपण दीपोत्सव उत्साहात सुरु झाला आणि ह्यावर्षी सलीम साहेब - जावेद साहेब ह्या दीपोत्सवाच्या लोकार्पणासाठी आले होते. दोघांनीही त्यांच्या प्रतिभेने, विचारांनी हा कार्यक्रम अधिक उजळला.
जगाला हेवा वाटेल असा महाराष्ट्र घडवणं ही माझ्या राजकारणाची प्रेरणा आहे आणि त्या प्रेरणेतून घडणारा हा दीपोत्सव. ह्या दीपोत्सवातील काही महत्वाचे क्षण.

Met PK Sharma in a Delhi-Meerut passenger train for a news report. For 40 years, this Meerut resident has been getting up at 4.30 am to join his office in Delhi, and reaching home by 9.30 pm. Six days in a week.

In most families, a generation has toiled this way to push the financial status up, uncomplainingly, living for the monthly salary, with no room for risks or adventure. Like treading a straight line without venturing sideways at all.

Their younger generation must understand such great sacrifices, make better use of their time and brain and not waste their privilege seeking cheap entertainment
