After Six Years in the $ICP Community: Innovation Without Recognition
DFINITY has continuously pushed forward with new concepts, advanced architectures, and ambitious visions for the Internet Computer. Yet, despite these efforts, ICP’s price has trended lower over time.
This creates a frustrating negative feedback loop: positive news and updates are released, only for the market to respond with further declines. Many long-term holders now wonder — should DFINITY place greater emphasis on market cap management, token economics, and investor communication to help ICP reach a valuation that reflects its technological potential?
The pattern is demoralizing: the more the team delivers, the more the price seems to suffer. This has led some community members to quietly question whether good news is being used as an opportunity for large unlocks or team distributions. While these suspicions may not be proven, they reflect real pain and growing fatigue among holders.
I’ve been part of the ICP community for six years. I still want to believe in the vision, but it’s increasingly difficult to watch the project deliver sophisticated technology while failing to achieve meaningful market success and broad adoption. The disconnect between innovation and price performance is becoming deeply disappointing.
True success requires not only technical breakthroughs but also market recognition and community trust. Without addressing these fundamental issues, even the most advanced concepts risk remaining undervalued.

👉️Exactly one year ago, we launched funnAI as the first-ever Proof-of-AI-Work Protocol and the first fully on-chain, incentivized AI competition built on the Internet Computer.

Now, the next major milestone is a super exciting one:

🚀funnAI will become its own SNS!🚀

‼️This means that, on top of the decentralized AI technology already running on ICP, governance, ownership and future development of the protocol itself will become decentralized and thus brings funnAI's Proof-of-AI-Work fully under community control🤝

But this will be not like any other SNS. Only 21 Million tokens will be minted to stick to the funnAI mAIning schedule. This SNS will also not generate a treasury to pay the development team from, but solely be used to decentralize the application to the existing community and ensure its longevity.

The sentiment in the $ICP community compared to almost every other crypto right now is night and day.

While others are panicking, shutting down operations, getting hacked into oblivion, or watching founders take "mental health breaks," the ICP ecosystem feels energized.

For the first time, the technology is being placed at the center of some of the biggest challenges in tech:

• Online identity & privacy
• Sovereign cloud infrastructure
• AI guardrails
• AI infrastructure
• Decentralization

Governments are exploring ICP. Discussions with organizations like the UNDP are happening. Builders are launching apps, businesses, and entire ecosystems.

What excites me most is the community.

The panic is gone. The conviction is back.

People are creating ICP content because they genuinely can't help themselves. Others are building businesses and applications who otherwise never would have touched software development.
