I kind of pity those in the business of managing other people's money(OPM) who keep telling us that FIIs aren't investing in India because of the long-term capital gains tax.

They still can't seem to separate their politics from their investing. (Or in some cases they need a reason to blame the pathetic returns they have delivered on to something other than themselves.)

FIIs did invest Rs 2.74 lakh crore in 2020-21 and Rs 2.1 lakh crore in 2023-24

So, the tax can't be the only reason for not investing.

How about valuations?

Or that all the marketing by OPM wallahs has led to too much domestic money being invested in stocks?

Youth unemployment?

Or the fact that despite 7-8% growth real incomes have fallen for the salaried and the self-employed?

Or that the over financialization of the economy is hurting us?

Plus none of these OPMs had a problem when the government cut the corporate income tax rate?

Well, someone had to pay for that cut. Higher taxes on capital gains and trading were the answer.

I lab tested all major Indian paneer brands, the results are SHOCKING!

Here’s what we found:

- All the branded paneer (Amul, iD, Milky Mist etc) we tested passed; the labels were largely accurate.

- Shockingly, all the roadside paneer and paneer from a dairy shop failed the test. They were selling analogue paneer, made from palm oil.

In comparison with real paneer, analogue paneer has 50% less protein, almost no calcium, and negligible vitamin B12.

India has milllions of street food vendors and dairies selling “paneer” so imagine how much fake paneer must be getting sold.

These lab tests are very expensive, I have spent my own savings to run these lab tests, and I want to thank all of you for supporting this fight for honest food.
