A4: 1/2 Using the @tdfu_ed model: Start by playing with dance (modify rules of dance: don’t stand in lines, don’t teach right/left choreo), then teach Ss how to create their own moves. Let them create sequences based on GLOs. #SHAPEPhysed
@NKeenliside@AnnaPullen74@PEgeeks Yes!! Grade 3+ students can create and sequence their own dance moves! To make assessment “easier” for Ts, I like to give Ss a framework based on FMS/Elements of Dance to create from. Eg “High-Bounce-Leap-Throw”. Each word is 8 counts + move possibilities are endless @TDfU_ed

Today was so much fun!! What a fantastic Developing Physical Literacy Through Dance workshop at Rhythm and Moves Conference in The Bay. I also love their conference theme: Teaching with Joy in Mind. #youareawesome@DANCEPL3Y@TDfU_ed
Teaching Tip: Make sure your students are always moving on the rhythm of the music when they create their own dance moves. Help them by coaching them to stay on the beat (example in this vid) #dance#physed#physicalliteracy#teachingdance#proD
