@spookytheNinth@_letterbxmb That’s something you’d have to both agree too, though.
Imagine if a woman marries a man with the expectation of having children and then at 36 he’s like “sorry, I changed my mind.”
Like he literally wasted her time and potentially ruined her chance at having kids.
@_letterbxmb Have you ever thought to ask why we give legal protections to people who marry? Maybe there’s some kind of underlying difference between roommates and married people?
@_letterbxmb You don’t need marriage to have kids, but historically we required marriage before having kids to protect women from men abandoning them to care for the children by themselves. It serves a purpose.
“Legal protections”
Then why are there laws against marrying your siblings?
@MountainMcRae@_letterbxmb You can share a bond with a commit to the care and happiness of your mother, but it’s be weird to marry your mother because marriage is sexual in nature.
@elladeonRH You have to contrast that post against the post claiming housewives are slaves.
I’m using their same sort of dumb semantic argument to the opposite effect. I don’t actually believe there is anything wrong with women spending 80% of the family’s income.
@_letterbxmb So what is marriage for in your mind then?
A huge part of a reason people get married is to have a healthy way to deal with sexual desire. Also to have children.
@LavaCat79 I’m starting from feminist presuppositions here that the husband gets a salary and the woman is a slave. Their view is that all of the money he earns is his money.
That’s not my view.
@_letterbxmb There are different degrees of not being in the mood to do something. That’s what I’m pointing out with the example.
Anything from I had a terrible day at work and I have a headache, to I could get into it, but I’d rather do something else.
@LavaCat79 I mean, first of all, it you’ve ever seen a single guy’s apartment, you’d know it’s mostly for her.
Secondly, how would it differ if she had her own salary? She’d still have to buy groceries, decor, etc.
@_letterbxmb It has to be with in reason, obviously.
To contrast it, if a husband doesn’t feel like listening to his wife’s feelings, with in reason, he should do it anyway, right?
Sure, there are more extreme circumstances where he is just so beat from work, say, and can’t handle it…
@elladeonRH And if her husband gave her 80k of his income as a salary, and they had a separate budget, she wouldn’t have to buy necessities like groceries? Of course she would.
You’re not a slave because you have to pay for necessities.
Maybe that’s it’s me, but that’s not an excuse to cheat in your wife.
If you’ve lost interest in her, or the marriage is failing, just get a divorce and go be with the girl you want to be with.
Better yet, go jerk off if it’s that much of a problem for you.
Usually Im positive on a lot of things, but if you cheat on your husband or wife and your only excuse is “oh they wouldn’t sleep with me” you’re a shallow piece of shit who deserves to die alone. End of story.
