@AliFranceMP I’m legally not allowed to contact my teams worst performer, so I now stay up all night to correct their work before it gets sent out. Oh and I can’t do anything because your union mates won’t let me.
@dvcotton @kevinbonham@ThePubTest7 But no one will know who was favoured by the multiple votes. There’s an equal chance they all went on the runner up. Surely you can’t go into the high court with that level of unknown asking to overturn a result.
@kevinbonham@ThePubTest7 @dvcotton Additionally what happens if a by election throws up a similar margin? We just keep going through this ordeal?
Would be unfair too if someone got a result voided due to close margin, then lost by the same margin and it wasn’t voided.
@kevinbonham@ThePubTest7 @dvcotton Sounds like a lot of “possibles”. Just as likely any duplicate votes may have assisted the eventual runner up - no one will ever know. Interesting to hear the high court debates on unknowns like that, would have thought they’d need more concrete evidence.
@kevinbonham So a result after in depth recounts doesnt mean that voters intention was clear? That seems odd to me.
Unless there’s evidence of a systemic failure or behaviour that warrants a new election, surely we just accept what the recount brings?
@kevinbonham Wouldn’t it be unfair for the Liberal candidate to have to go through a recount if she wins by a handful of votes? Noting that the fortunes of the party have dipped since election day which will sway voters away.
@Tassiedevil5@DaltonP23228748 So the AEC sends staff to hand out and collect votes in hospitals and nursing homes. Im sure if Wilson was taking votes home, one of them would have said something by now. All these accusations have only aired AFTER he won.
