@VillageSchoolH1 I think if ofsted choose to do this, they should expect to see kids watching Planet Earth and colouring in mindfulness maps from twinkl!
@MrMountstevens This year I bought a massive bag of tiny little plastic ducks from Temu for £3 and gave them out to y11 and 13 calling them “lucky ducks”. They loved them and lots took them to each exam in their pencil case or pocket for luck. 🦆 Best £3 I’ve spent in a while!
@CensoredHead Unfortunately nothing is going to change unless teachers refuse to do extra work for no pay! It never used to be the case in primary and it’s not the case in most secondaries. Teachers need to say no.
@secretHT1 I stopped doing them. 4 nights sharing a room with someone I hardly know and kids knocking on the door with ailments all night, then arrive back to parents who rock up late to collect and drive off without even a nod or a smile! 🙄
@educationgovuk That’s 50% of schools who have a CEO on a 6 figure salary, sitting in an office somewhere while teachers spend their own money on resources and breakfast for their students.
@WhistleblowingT Send a pretty much copy/pasted response saying you have no concerns with their polite and well behaved child and that to improve they should… (something generic) and should they want to discuss anything further they should book a 7:30am phone call appointment via the office. 😏
@MrBoothY6 I’ve stopped doing trips for this reason. Parents have no idea of the stress of taking a group of kids away. I will now only do trips if it’s a course requirement eg. Fieldwork. Used to do several per year but the ungrateful comments and lack of thanks ruined it.
I actually think I’m over #edutwitter! Two teachers were stabbed at their school this week and all anyone is bothered about is some behaviour posters! 🙄🙄🙄
