Autonomy is a basic human need.

A pile of evidence shows that people w/ autonomy on the job are happier & more productive.

Undoing 18 months of pandemic-inspired autonomy & replacing it with control is a recipe for corporate stagnation & human misery.

@SterlingSimmon6 Maybe try to race the clock for getting packed up and spend time connecting if done in reasonable time without too much promoting. But definitely dig into the resistance... problems on the way home...? At home? Might be hard for a 5 YO to express.

@SterlingSimmon6 Have the child help you set & pick a sound for 5 minute warning on your phone. Laminated visual checklist where the child moves a clothespin after each task. “I wish we could hang out here together all evening, but I need to ___ and you need to ___!”
