I've had Penn State football season tickets for a very, very long time. I've always considered myself lucky to have them, and I've supported the program through plenty of good years, bad years, coaching changes, bowl games, and everything in between.

But I have to admit, the 2027 Beaver Stadium pricing announcement feels like a slap in the face to longtime season-ticket holders. My tickets will see a 389% increase.

I understand that Penn State needs to generate more revenue in today's college athletics environment.

But this doesn't feel like simply "the cost of doing business."

For years, the loyalty of season-ticket holders meant something. We bought every game. We showed up. We supported the program. We absorbed the bad seasons along with the great ones. We helped create the demand and atmosphere that makes Penn State football such a valuable property.

Heck, Penn State has spent years telling us that We Are the best fans in college football.

This new pricing model feels like Penn State now telling us we are simply customers whose seats have now been repriced. Nothing more, nothing less.
