Israelis rape Palestinian men to death with rods. They detain thousands of Palestinians without legal representation or charge. They cut off the water in the West Bank over 900x.

They torture livestock, bulldoze hundred-years-old olive groves, spray toxins on crops, set houses on fire, block ambulances from saving the Palestinians they shoot. They block aid by blockade and with their bodies and babies in strollers, they kill fisherman fishing.

They decimate cemeteries and cover their mass graves. They execute medics, bomb ambulances, hospitals, schools, universities, shelters and refugee camps. They evict Christians and tax Palestinians out of Bethlehem. They shoot children in the chest and head with drones, double bomb sites to hit rescuers, and leave babies in incubators to die alone after turning the electricity off.

Israel is a MONSTER state, a Jewish Supremacist ethnic state with the majority of Jews supporting the genocide in Gaza, the bombing in Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Yemen, Iran.

Israel has no respect for human life, international law, or the rights of sovereign nations.

And the United States government allowed Israeli madness to infiltrate our elections, bribe and blackmail our politicians and run multi-billion dollar campaigns against “America First” candidates.

The United States government have given Israel our bombs, military technology and billions in tax payer aid to defend their Supremacist state, expand their illegal settlements and to commit genocide and human atrocities.

No. The U.S. and Israel are not saving any people in Iran. No. The U.S. and Israel don’t care about civilian casualties. No. The U.S. and Israel don’t care about anything but expanding the Jewish Supremacist state and the hold they have over the region, and the leverage they have over the world not to stop them.

While Israel is bombing Iran, they are spraying toxic chemicals over crops in southern Lebanon, terrorizing Palestinians in the West Bank while stealing more land, bulldozing properties in East Jerusalem, and shutting both gates to Gaza CLOSED to finish their genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian prisoners living in tents and rubble.

This is not a drill. Israel must be stopped by any means necessary. Trump, who is clearly either willfully controlled or blackmailed by Israel, must be removed from power along with his enablers.

All war criminals must be brought to justice. People must pay for their crimes against humanity and Israel must cease existing for it cannot live in peace, nor deserve land acquired through colonial settlement and genocide.

This. Is. Not. A. Drill.

This week, The Guardian reported on a survey by the Royal College of Psychiatrists claiming that ‘three in four women do not know that menopause causes mental illness.’

Read that sentence again. Menopause causes mental illness, apparently. And the silly women don’t even know about it.

Give us all a goddamn break, please.

It is hard to overstate how pathologising, misleading, and politically loaded that statement is. And it is even harder to ignore the fact that this message was not stumbled upon accidentally by a journalist. It was issued as a press-friendly finding by one of the most powerful psychiatric institutions in the UK. The Royal College of Psychiatrists.

A disgusting and deliberate tactic to frame menopausal and perimenopausal women as mentally ill, and of course, unaware.

As a psychologist who has spent years researching the psychiatric labelling of women and girls, and as the author of Sexy But Psycho, I find this framing deeply concerning. Because this is exactly how it happens. First, women’s normal physiological processes are reframed as psychiatric risk factors. Then women are told they are unaware, uninformed, or ignorant about their own bodies. Then the screening increases. Everyone celebrates more screening of women. Then the diagnoses increase. Then the prescribing increases. And before long, an entire life stage has been recoded as a mental health disorder waiting to happen.

This is not a drill, ladies. This is not a drill.

Heart-breaking: Yanar Mohammed, the fearless Iraqi feminist and founder of the Organisation of Women’s Freedom in Iraq (OWFI), was murdered in Iraq yesterday.

Yanar was a dear colleage and friend to so many of us in the women’s rights and feminist community, one of our icons. She spent her life standing up for women’s rights in the most dangerous environment. She spoke out against so-called honor killings,against senseless violence and killings by armed groups, against violence and aggression by States, all States.

She faced constant threats but she never stopped. And today we cry and mourn her energy, her commitment, her profound humanity, her amazing courage.

As we prepare to meet for the Commission on the Status of Women, at a time when so many States are intent on turning the clock on years of (imperfect) progresses on the protection of women’s rights, and non-discrimination; when too many powerful actors are attacking human rights, gender rights and feminism, Yanar will be guiding us.

We will stand tall, we will be relentless in our pursuit of justice and equality, we will be strong and united in resisting the backsliding and increasing violence. We will be courageous.

Today in Iran, thousands upon thousands turned out under open skies, despite US and Israeli warplanes, drones and missiles overhead.
