@MbekezeliMB@BelindaJDodson And according to my recollection, these sentiments existed way before March to March. We can't simply put these sentiments onto the events of the past few months from some south African groupings.
@CoreyWriting Bro when we ,as south Africa hosted the world cup ,15 years ago, we didn't care about all of this nonsense. We just wanted everyone to have a good time... without being robbed
@Simon_Sithole20@CityTshwane Well @CityTshwane can't disconnect schools even if they wanted to. They will have to engage the provincial department and come to a solution that does not jeopardise our children's right to education. The high court told her this a few weeks ago🤷
@SabeloChalufu They were trying to circumvent the Pretoria high court order which prohibited them from cutting off schools directly. So they went to the head office and , through incompetence, targeted the wrong head office. Politics of retweets and likes I guess
@cnehshuga And it should not be like this 😞 without revealing much , a certain colleague told me about an acquaintance of his who works at OR Thambo. And the side hustle is pilfering through bags and they make more from that than their salaries
@tumisole@GaytonMcK I'm sorry for sounding dumb. But don't we have a ministry and a budget allocated to fund all our sports federations. Sponsors aside. This is an official organisation. This tournament shouldn't come as a surprise.
@Amahashi_ Yes . Government schools this Friday officially, but kids haven't been to school in a week after they finished writing. I know private schools have slightly different calendars. By a week or two. But all kids are at home already. This is just hate 🤷
@AmaMpondomise1 True last year on Ukhozi FM I would hear about this 1 million campaign. Basically the government was hunting down over 1.1 million people who defaulted on treatment or know their status but aren't taking treatment. Door to door.
@NealGardner_ Because Nigeria couldn't even win a game against a country that doesn't even have their own accredited stadium and has to play their World cup qualifiers in South Africa
@Ngonyamandvuna Interesting fact, the whole of Nigeria produces 4,500 megawatts of electricity on a good day. In SA, a single power station (Medupi or Kusile) produces 4,900 megawatts each. And the Nigerian electricity grid has collapsed twice already this year.. 0 MG produced.
@Flowfy02@pat_mxolisi They think the grass is greener on the other side. Many are coming back home. Even those who aren't coming back and are abroad, continue to love their country. Regular emigration is very common
@MbekezeliMB I wonder what it is that UJ is getting right They're cooking. DHET has ranked them as the best research university in SA for two consecutive years.
I think that the anxiety that operates beneath South Africa's xenophobia is that maybe the most intelligent, talented and hard-working individuals on this continent are not from here.
South Africans do not like to be reminded about how ordinary they are. It's a very sore spot.
