@AnandWrites More than anything, I keep coming back to the simple fact of how much work needs to be done and how daunting it feels. There just also feels like there's a time limit to fixing things; At what point do we hit a tipping point for our problems?
@Jolly_Jack There's been a long standing distinct lack of empathy all around. It always pops up more when things feel chaotic. But I'm also sure that's what fucking got us here in the first place. People don't want to consider why there's a disagreement. They just want it to "go away".
It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.
While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.
And they’re right.
"I believe that, deep down, below his contorted face, badly disfigured by the corrupting dark force surging through his veins, all Palpatine really wants to do is improve the economy."

@AnandWrites I have always believed that we're at our core, not good or bad but just trying to survive. That is kinda gone now. Now I just keep seeing this...madness and realize that for far too many people, other people's suffering is required for their survival. For their enjoyment.
@katystoll We need to build something better than their machine. I don't know how much willpower it'll take but it's got to be done. No amount of procedure or decorum will get us out of this. We gotta do it. Together. Without them.
@ElieNYC I've been reckoning with this in my head during my shift this morning.
Trump is the representation of our country as it is; old. Lying. Deteriorating. Proudly ignorant. Racist. Greedy. That's what Americans see in themselves on the ballot.
Just makes the good work harder.
@HardcoreHistory The unfortunate conclusion I keep coming to is too many people want a conflict, seeing it as the only way to "win" and solidify their position. The notion of give and take and coming to a consensus of opinions to move forward seems to have been murdered in a DC alley.
@SkinnerPm I'd say it feels like he's almost a manifestation of just how broken things are, but that gives him more credit than just being a hateful old criminal who's desperate to cling to a variant of reality where he's legitimately successful.
@ashleylynch Him not really being the Mandarin was disappointing for...a negative second because they introduced it with a poop joke. And that immediately won me over to the whole thing. ...Look, I don't make the rules, that's just how it goes.
@SimplyRobotix@joeydrewit Dude, behind the scenes features and commentary taught me sooo much... mostly that "oh thank God, all story tellers are crazy."
