Kharam Vaiphei Village, a peace-loving community that supplied fresh vegetables to Singda Kadangband during the COVID-19 pandemic, is now under attack. Homes have been burned. It is heartbreaking when acts of kindness and peace are repaid with violence. #Manipur
Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Bakrid filled with peace, joy, and togetherness.
May this special day bring warmth to your homes, strength to your hearts, and moments of gratitude with family and friends.
Eid Mubarak.
Zillai GHQ strongly rejects the false allegations against Shri Lalboi Vaiphei regarding the Leilon incident. We urge everyone not to spread misinformation and to work towards peace and unity in Manipur.
The alleged abduction of 14 people in Manipur’s Senapati district has drawn attention after Young Pillars College Principal and MD Samuel Haokip stated that a 16-year-old student, Hengunsei Khongsai, is among those detained.
Haokip said Hengunsei had recently completed his Class 11 final exams, is a minor with a disability, and had lost both parents. He said the group had gone to earn daily wages and was on their way back to Taphou village when they were stopped near Mount Everest College in Senapati.
He alleged that members of the Senapati District Student Association (SDSA), along with police personnel present at the spot, were involved in the incident, and appealed for the release of all 14 individuals and an investigation into the matter.

#WATCH | Churachandpur, Manipur | Young Pillars College Principal and MD, Samuel Haokip, says, "Among the 14 that were abducted, there's a boy named Hengunsei Khongsai, a student of Young Pillars College. He had just completed his class 11 final exams. Now, Hengunsei is still a minor. He's only 16 years of age. He also has a disability and he's essentially an orphan. His mother left him when he was a child and his father passed away this January. Now, his friends have started their class 12 a week ago. He could not come. He's still in Taphou village. He was in Taphou village to earn his fare money, just to come from his village to Lamka... I earnestly appeal to the government at the state and the centre, to all the security agencies and to all right-thinking community leaders across the region. Please put an end to this madness... Let us release all the hostages on all sides, including our boy, Hengunsei Khongsai... On the 14th of May, as I've been given to understand by his family members, Hengunsei Khongsai, along with his friends and village members were earning money as a daily wage labourer. On their way home to their village, they were stopped, in front of Mount Everest College, Senapati, where they were stopped by Senapati District Student Association (SDSA) members. There were also police members present there, security personnel. Instead of protecting Hengunsei Khongsai and his friends and his villagers, the security people have handed over these civilians into the hands of the SDSA... All involved parties, including the SDSA student leaders as well as the police personnel involved in that incident must be investigated and they must be held accountable for whatever happens to Hengunsei Khongsai and the abducted 14 members."

Tonight Lamka walked for Pu Vungzagin Valte. He was a BJP MLA attacked in Imphal in May 2023. People here are asking how the BJP government in Manipur continues as usual while Delhi remains silent on justice for its own legislator.

The procession moved along Tedim Road tonight. Families and students walked together with torches. Nearly three years after the attack on Pu Vungzagin Valte, people here are still waiting for justice.
