Thank you, @ed_rosenberg , for writing this article. You have become a true powerhouse in shining a bright light on the dark underbelly of the American federal “justice” system.
While those in power have finally begun to acknowledge the corruption and weaponization of the DOJ, their focus has unfortunately remained centered mainly wrongs done to themselves and their peers, while largely ignoring the devastation inflicted on ordinary individuals who lack the power or resources to fight back.
Thank you for giving a voice to the profound pain the process inflicts, and to the deep sense of hopelessness that descends when the full crushing weight of the state bears down on a single person.
Almost a year later and DOJ is pushing for a retrial. Sit with what that means: they’d rather set a precedent that criminalizes writing code than admit the case doesn’t hold. Every developer in this country inherits the risk - for decades - unless this is dismissed.

Sorry to hear this, Lauren. Our loved one just went through Oklahoma City in February. He lost 30 pounds in 35 days, there. No mattresses, not enough clothing or food. Every day three or so other inmates being taken out for being unresponsive due to drug use. Okc needs to be examined! Clemency case C309817
This is what the UK spyware proposal means.
There must be government spyware on every mobile device. It shall watch everything that happens, including always watching the screen, looking for things the government disapproves of.
When anything is flagged by the software as something the government doesn't like, the software must block it from being sent or displayed (in realtime).
The user of the device must not be able to shut this watching and blocking off. The only way to shut it off would be to ask the government or its proxies to do so for you, at their discretion.
Therefore the whole device must be locked down. Administrator rights and the decision of what software or operating system to run or not to run must be taken from the owner/user and handed to the government and its proxies.
Apple and Google are themselves working hard to lock down the devices they are involved in to shut out competition and establish a duopoly.
The UK government says it is "working closely" with Apple and Google and currently they synchronise and coordinate their communication on this subject.
The UK government is now proposing to mandate what would otherwise be illegal anti-competitive practices.

The Samourai Wallet developers are now reportedly among the top names on presidential pardon prediction markets.
If the administration believes the prosecution was wrong, every day this case continues is another day too long.
Hello all,
On Friday I got news that I am to be transferred to a new institution. I will no longer be an inmate at FPC Morgantown. I am a little disappointed because this is a nice place (for a prison) and my wife can visit easily. For security reasons they do not tell you where you are going but I am hopeful that it won't be too far from home. I was told to be ready to "pack out" on Monday or Tuesday - it is very likely I will be leaving on Wednesday - so I spent the weekend getting ready to leave. It is amazing how much stuff you accrue in such a short period of time, it has been nearly 6 months since I arrived here. I expect they will call me down to "R&D" (receiving and discharge) where they will inspect my belongings to make sure there is no contraband and I am not taking anything unauthorized and pack them away in a box or two that they will ship to my new institution.
As for "shipping" me, it is very likely that I will be flown out to the central transit prison hub in Oklahoma before I am then flown onward to wherever they are putting me. Yes, Con-air is a real thing. Needless to say going through transit (Oklahoma) is a real nightmare. You can be stuck there from 1 day to several weeks, you're around all kinds of prisoners of all different security levels. No one looks forward to Oklahoma - myself included. There is the slightest possibility of avoiding the transit nightmare. On Friday after I got word I submitted a formal request (a "cop out" in BOP lingo) to the CMC (case manager coordinator) here at the institution. I requested that they allow me to perform what is called a 'transfer furlough' which means instead of the BOP spending upwards of $10,000 to fly me across the country several times my wife can come pick me up and drop me off at my new location at my own cost. Transfer furloughs are rare of course, but the CMC didn't reject it outright, he promised to take it up the chain of command and let me know. So while I am not expecting it, there is the slightest glimmer of possibility that they allow it. Considering that I have had no incident reports, that i self surrendered, that I had no issue on pre-trial supervision for nearly 2 years, etc, all makes a compelling case that I can be trusted to self transfer. So here is to hoping for the best.
I will let you know where I will be once I know where I will be.
All the best,
Keonne
If they announce pardons at the conference then that means they have been withholding the developers' freedom for a publicity stunt. If they don't announce pardons then they are spitting in this industry's face showing up empty handed.
Thank you @_DannyKnowles for having me on WBD!
What an amazing opportunity to tell people about the injustice of the @SamouraiWallet case, and that the “War on Crypto” isn’t over.

These are legitimate regulatory wins for crypto that allow for larger scale integration of crypto into the economy, and protect crypto from potential backlash should the Democratic Party retake the White House.
But I agree that all eyes should be on the Samourai Wallet and Tornado Cash developers being persecuted for publishing open source code.
I would once again like to remind you that while we are celebrating Bitcoin regulatory "wins", a Bitcoin privacy developer is serving a five year prison sentence for building non-custodial software.
Sign the petition for his pardon today.

➡️Appels à un pardon présidentiel : le 15 décembre 2025, @POTUS a déclaré « I've heard about it, I'll look at it »
