Ever wonder what would you do if you lived in periods of time like Slavery, the Inquisition, the Holocaust?
The answer, is probably what you are doing right now!
This is not as much to knock people for not doing more (though we all should), but more to raise awareness of how injustice is able to persist even right in plain sight. It's easy to look back and think how could all those people just stand idly by and do nothing in the face of such atrocities? But we can see things on the world stage now that rival those periods, despite the efforts to downplay, distract from and/or excuse them. More locally, we live amidst a system that largely depends on exploitation to thrive where injustices are ubiquitous and people feel forced to comply in order to survive - at least financially. Think of how often phrases like 'that's just the way it is' or 'that's how the game is played' are used to downplay unethical activity. It is based on such observations that I understand how and why people overlooked such gross wrongs in the past - as well as today.
While we may not be able to instantly change the system or just halt our participation it, we can start by opening our eyes and acknowledging the realities around us and start looking for ways we can push for what's right and finding opportunities to make things better. If the many start doing a little, the impact would be quite large leading to momentum that can make substantial difference in making the world a more just, equitable, and peaceful place.
The hearing ended with Noura Erakat being arrested, over 20 officers forcing all 100 residents to leave, commissioners insulting a veteran for speaking out against the genocide by stating he was an embarrassment to his service, and officers threatening excessive force.
Today, 100 South Florida residents alongside Noura Erakat, Oliver Larkin, and former US State Department Official Charles Blaha came to give public comment during the Palm Beach County Budget hearing against Israel Bonds.
DISPUTE YOUR TICKETS WITH THE BANK #EdSheeran

@Slytherin_Queen: Banker here! You can 100% dispute this with your bank due to lack of commitment to the service you had paid for, when your bank asks if you tried to dispute it with the venue tell them they had refused to give it to you. Refunds come anywhere from 7-10 days. 🖤
KAEPERNICK: The part that I hope people take away in this moment is what Robert Kraft and what they’re saying by denying Macklemore the opportunity to perform with Ed Sheeran is they are willing to collude. They are openly colluding.
When we filed the grievance, it was like, well, the owners wouldn’t do that. Everybody just wants to win within the NFL. And the realization is, no. They want to protect their interests. They want to protect their power. They want to protect their money. And they also want people to know that if you take an action that they don’t agree with, they will come for you. And that was some of the warning coming out of the protest and some of the warning coming out of the grievance, is that they will organize against you. Which means that we collectively have to organize to be able to protect our interests as well.
Further evidence that the NFL hasn't changed since their supposed contrition about stamping out the efforts of Colin Kaepenick and other players calling out police brutality. They will only put on a face of such when the pressure grows too high - such as when the Black Lives Matter movement forced them to reckon with their prior poor judgment.
Thus we should again boycott the NFL, but at this point why should anyone consider ever going back if/when they come around on this one?
#BoycottTheNFL (and their stadiums)
Just like NFL team owners conspired to silence Colin Kaepernick for taking a knee to bring attention to police brutality, we again have NFL team owners conspiring to silence someone speaking about injustice and human rights. We’re again hearing the narrative deflect attention from the actual issue being raised by focusing on whether he protested in an appropriate way at an appropriate time. Eventually when it’s politically expedient (or hopefully when enough people turn away that financial considerations warrant it), they will likely again change their tune – possibly even admitting they were wrong. They will make a big show of it in an attempt to gain support for a ‘historic moment of change’. Don’t believe them as they have already shown who they are. As the saying goes, “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.”
If you like football, switch to watching college football or better yet get off your butt, pull away from the screen and venture over to watch you local high school team play where there’s no significant money involved at all. Or maybe find some friends to go toss a ball around outside with or even play a game yourself! But stop giving your money (as well as the time and attention that money is made off of) to those who abuse it!

While his explanation seems more than plausible, in the worst case, this was an off-colour joke done in poor taste. Regardless, he apologized for this profusely and moved forward without any subsequent incidents.
It is ridiculous for Zionists to point to thus one event more than a decade ago as proof that he actually is secretly a raging antisemite who hates all Jews and/or wants them all dead!
As you point out, there is zero evidence of that, so obviously this is being pushed to deflect attention from the blatant oppression /subjugation/anhilation/etc of the Palestinian people by the state of Israel supported by Zionists and complicit Western nations he was calling attention to!

@KaweesiTon8j0b@caitoz Not sure if you're serious or not, but this is certainly not the place to seek help.
In the US, you can dial 988, but Wikipedia has a list of numbers across the globe.
Hope you find the help you seek!

The arrest of the brilliant scholar Noura Erakat @4noura is the latest example of the Zionist-fascist crackdown on free speech. But it’s also a testament to the strength and power of Noura and the movement she’s part of. Full solidarity.
@edsheeran it's not too late to admit you were wrong and follow suit to salvage some credibility with your now former audience.
If you pull out too, there is no concert and the owners will be forced to reconsider their position or face huge losses along woth embarrassment.
You can continue performing in shame to whoever does show up or you could do what you know is right regardless of how it plays out after!

To all my Jewish brothers and sisters still supporting Apartheid Israel,
How many murdered Palestinian children is too many for you? Number please.
How many shattered Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian, Yemeni and Iranian fathers and mothers is too many? Number please.
How many displaced, diseased, wounded & hungry Palestinians is too many for you?
With every passing moment, Israel’s apartheid regime becomes more entrenched as it seals its fate in the annals of the most genocidal regimes in all of human history.
How much death and destruction do you want to be complicit in?
Why do you want to be remembered for supporting the holocaust of the 21st century?
Have you no fucking shame?
@llozano1366270l These are both great! Maybe the first can be used as a theme song for the resistance while the other serves as a banner anthem. Thoughts?
BREAKING: Ed Sheeran has released a statement saying there are multiple approaches to peace, and while he respects Macklemore, he has a different approach. This includes not speaking up for peace and punishing those who do.
My daughter came home from school and said,
“Mum, you’re not going to believe what happened in history class today.”
Her teacher told the class they were going to play a game.
He walked around the room and whispered to each kid whether they were a witch or just a regular person. Then he gave the instructions:
“Form the biggest group you can without a witch. If your group has even one, you all fail.”
She said the whole room instantly lit up with suspicion.
Everyone started interrogating each other. Are you a witch? How do we know you’re not lying?
Some kids clung to one big group, but most broke off into smaller, exclusive cliques. They turned away anyone who seemed uncertain, nervous, or gave off even the slightest hint of being guilty.
The energy shifted fast. Suddenly everyone was suspicious of everyone.
Whispers. Finger-pointing. Side-eyes. Trust dissolved in minutes.
Finally, when all the groups were formed, the teacher said,
“Alright, time to find out who fails. Witches, raise your hands.”
And not one hand went up.
The whole class exploded. “Wait! You messed up the game!”
And then the teacher dropped the bomb:
“Did I? Were there any actual witches in Salem, or did everyone just believe what they were told?”
My daughter said the room went dead silent.
That’s when it hit them. No witch was ever needed for the damage to happen. Fear had already done its work. Suspicion alone divided the entire class, turning community into chaos.
And isn’t that exactly what we’re seeing today?
Different words, same playbook.
Instead of “witch,” it’s liberal, conservative, vaxxed, unvaxxed, pro-this, anti-that.
The labels shift, but the tactic is the same.
Get people scared. Get them suspicious. Get them divided.
Then sit back while trust crumbles.
The danger was never the witch.
The danger is the rumour. The suspicion. The fear. The planted lies.
Refuse the whisper. Don’t play the game. Because the second we start hunting “witches,” we’ve already lost.

Ed Sheeran knew Macklemore's advocacy for Palestine before asking him to join the tour. Sheeran caved to pressure from NFL owners colluding to block the tour unless he dropped Macklemore
This is reminiscent of how owners colluded to block the QB you denigrate as a 'backup' despite him having led his team to a Super Bowl and NFC championship. Perhaps he didn't fit a new coach's system as well. Perhaps injuries were a concern. But to think that no team would want to take a chance on him given the potential makes no sense aside from political blackballing.
You can side with censorship and coercion over justice and human rights. I call for boycotting these owners and their stadiums and echo the righteous calls for a Free Palestine!!!
