I bought into the hype, but it never felt right to me. When the Joey’s okay video came out is when I started to wonder if the sport I love was still fun. *I don’t know Joey, but I was there and people laughing made me sick.

Cyclocross shot itself in the foot circa 2009. And to be clear, I’m specifically speaking of American grass roots CX. It became a “show,” a “thing,” and “a culture.”
