@_wyec Must be different tastes in humour. It's a light comedy set in different periods of history and that's it. It's not meant to be a gripping drama.
@mxgbx They used to have detector vans with fake aerials and satellites on the outside to make it look like they were tracking TV signals, but really it was just blokes in the back with binoculars looking through people's windows for TVs.
@AndrewGbanchory@CrossCountryUK I'm not necessarily defending it, but unfortunately these long XC routes are also local services for a lot of places. Sheffield to York for example is XC only if you want direct. This leads to the trains being rammed and the genuine long distance users getting inconvenienced
@Se_Railway@EastMidRailway I'm looking to travel from Derby to Rainham Kent. What's the difference between an off peak return and a super off peak return for this route? Is the difference a time restriction or route restriction or both?
@uncreativetom I think they just have to check absolutely everything. I was once sat with some train drivers who were off work and they were saying about having to separately qualify for the two different flirt trains even though they said they were exactly the same to drive.
@CrossCountryUK hi, I'm meant to be on the 10:45 from Cardiff to Derby tomorrow but it's cancelled. I know I can get the 11:45 instead but is there any ticket acceptance with other operators (TfW, GWR) so I can travel a bit closer to the original time? (Advance single).
@Andrewislington@EastMidRailway Yeah sadly you don't actually have a right to a seat on a train so it's not a reason for compensation. It's not like a flight where everyone must be seated.
@CF_Farrow It's extremely normal. You're given a statement like that, and you use your knowledge of the religion's beliefs and the rules of the religion to determine if the statement is reasonable or not. Having done the GCSE, I can think of a couple of arguments for and against.
@T1E2H3 The main thing is simply not enough trains. The voyagers are often run in a 4 car configuration which is simply unsuitable, especially for the Birmingham to Leeds stretch. If they were given a nice fleet of class 80x like LNER, GWR etc, they could run their voyagers in 4+4, 4+5.
@Heidi_Labour I support nationalising the railways but some of these TOCs have existed for decades or centuries and are part of our living history. Why are beautiful liveries being replaced by plastic-patriotic GB News trains?
