Highly recommend this week’s Full Comment Podcast on the state of antisemitism in Canada and Mark Carney’s cowardly response to it.
It’s both disturbing, because of government’s failure to deal with it, and frightening because hundreds, maybe even thousands, of Canadian Jews feel it necessary to leave, or consider leaving Canada because they no longer feel safe here, no longer feel welcome in their own country.
More than anything it’s an indictment of our political class for its failure - or unwillingness, more accurately - to tackle this crisis, which in any liberal democracy would or should be the government’s top priority.
But Carney knows that the Islamists and their white anti-Zionist progressive allies have become too important to Liberal political prospects to piss them off by speaking out against them or by acting to protect an increasingly vulnerable minority—something liberals like to say they stand for, unless that minority are the Jews with a politically inconvenient attachment to their historic homeland.
This is Canada today. This is Canada’s shame. And all Canadians, not just Jewish Canadians, should wake up and consider what it all means for the soul of our nation, for Canadian values, and for what we actually stand for and against.
Canadian American Business Council (@cabc_co) submits a scathing brief on Bill C-22, warning it raises fundamental privacy concerns, weakens encryption, and threatens our bilateral partnership on data security. My post on how business views lawful access.

In Philadelphia this week, speaking at a conference on food systems and health.
My fourth trip to the U.S. this year.
Always enjoy getting a break from the Trump madness in Canada. Never hear about him here, ever...
Canada is an old folks home: Where the residents all have dementia and think they are back in their youth, fighting imaginary wars against "those arrogant Americans". Meanwhile, their bodies rot and they shit in diapers.
I don’t even think that she hates Jews. I just don’t think she’s thought through any of this carefully enough to know that what she’s posting is insane.
This is so devastating, honestly. I don’t understand how so many people can march for a state that is actively committing a genocide.
Are Palestinian lives really worth so little to this many Canadians?
If so, I’m ashamed to call myself Canadian today.
How do you ban kids from social media? Everyone needs to present digital ID to say or do anything online. Remember - this is exactly the same govt that debanked a bunch of people because the they disagreed with their political views. Will every future govt agree with your political views?
I still can't get over the fact that the Canadian government is not ashamed by the fact that they are giving people money for groceries. In any normal country, this would be an abject admission of total failure.
1. The terrorist entity IRGC violated the ceasefire and fired missiles at Israel.
2. The only group that defends the IRGC in Canada is the Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC).
3. The ICC has been led by the same people who are now running Olivia Chow's mayoral campaign.
It is literally insane that this is not an election issue.

@mfarooq45@nationalpost That’s nice. I pay a decent chuck of money that goes into the CBC’s $1.25B/year. Are you willing to join political forces with me to burn the CBC to the ground?
Since coming to power in 2015 the Liberals have appointed over 740 of our roughly 1000 federal judges, 7 of the 9 Supreme Court judges, and 100 of the 105 senators.
The government also pays roughly 30% of every reporter’s salary in Canada.
@ShaneWenzel What changed? It’s the govt funding for the media, and the understanding at the CBC that the conservatives would defund them. The CBC has no interest in holding this govt accountable, or even telling the truth. And every dementia-afflicted boomer listens to that misinformation.
@Blueelectron4@TheStalwart AMD’s GPU people are so ham-handed with software that I just don’t think they’re in the competition. The whole ROCm mess where they announced you wouldn’t be able to do compute on consumer GPUs tells you how little they understand the software world.
Bought a $1,742.80 camera online from BestBuy.
The FedEx delivery driver stole it. FedEx admitted it.
But BestBuy won’t give a refund. They said we need to “work with local law enforcement.”
Thought everyone should know if you buy from @BestBuy and a @FedEx driver steals what you paid for, your money is gone. Neither company will make it right.
I’ve spent over $30K at BestBuy and will never spend another penny there.
@bavedikian@BestBuy@FedEx Ultimately of course FedEx should eat this, but that doesn’t involve you. You paid BestBuy and they chose to ship with FedEx. Saying you should follow up with FedEx is like saying the BestBuy janitor stole your money and that you need to track them down. Anyhoo, chargeback on cc
Under @stephenharper, tax incentives were implemented to encourage parents to put their kids in *SPORTS.* After 11 years, the Liberala are *gleefully* celebrating giving people some of their tax dollars back so they can *EAT.*
Think about that.
