„Shukren Eritrea“ Thank you Eritrea 🇪🇷

Messages of Congratulations
President Donald Trump of the United States, President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation, King Charles III of the United Kingdom, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany, King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh of Mongolia, President Hakainde Hichilema of the Republic of Zambia, President Anura Kumara Disanayaka of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have sent messages of congratulations to the people and Government of Eritrea on the occasion of the 35th Independence anniversary.
In their messages, sent on behalf of their respective countries and themselves, the leaders conveyed their best wishes for good health to President Isaias Afwerki, as well as peace and prosperity to the Eritrean people.
They also expressed their countries’ readiness to enhance mutual relations and cooperation with Eritrea and to work together on issues of mutual interest.
In his message, President Donald Trump said that the American people join him in congratulating the people and Government of Eritrea on the 35th anniversary of Eritrea’s independence, May 24. He also expressed respect and admiration for the steadfast spirit and resilience of the Eritrean people, as well as for their dedication to Eritrea’s national sovereignty.
President Donald Trump further noted that, consistent with the sentiment he expressed in his letter to President Isaias last year, and with the previous era now behind us, he believes the time is right to move forward and work together on shared peace and prosperity across the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.
King Charles III also said that Eritrea’s experience in conserving water and protecting its precious natural resources offers valuable lessons as communities everywhere adapt to environmental change.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, for his part, said that at a time when the Horn of Africa and the Middle East are passing through great challenges, Germany desires to work in partnership with Eritrea to ensure peace, stability, and development in the region and beyond. #Eritrea
ASMARA ― The Eritrea National Team has officially learned its opponents for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers. Drawn into Group D, #Eritrea will take on #Kenya, #Guinea, and #SouthAfrica, with qualification matches scheduled to begin in September 2026.
Despite the challenges and setbacks the team has faced in recent years, this marks another important opportunity for Eritrean football to compete on the continental stage.
Wishing our national team strength, unity, and success throughout the campaign.
Thomas Keneally, author of 'Towards Asmara' (1989), through his own eyes (& through a character named 'Darcy' in his book) explains the elite mindset of the Eritrean forces i.e. defeating the largest army in Africa while simultaneously preparing Eritreans for a future government.
I will leave this video clip out here. The current National Security Advisor of Abiy Ahmed Ali, @RedwanHussien arguing perfectly under the last regime, why a landlocked #Ethiopia is not affected economically for not owning ports. And it was Menelik's signed treaties that left Ethiopia without sea access, so go and blame Menelik and give the Horn of #Africa some peace. @AsstSecStateAF@US_SrAdvisorAF
President Isaias of #Eritrea reading of global and regional politics is uncanny. He clearly predicted that Iran was going to be attacked four months ago in his New year address. It is almost prophetic! He was planning the effects of an attack on Iran and how to deal with its consequences, before it actually happened. WoW!
A Look Back on Eritrea’s Historic day of May 24, 1991 🇪🇷
EPLF forces moved into the capital city of Eritrea, Asmara, liberating almost all of Eritrea from the Ethiopian military regime after a 30-year long bloody armed struggle. EPLF soldiers into the streets of Asmara. Across the board, Eritreans were ecstatically happy and the dancing and celebration would continue for several days.
Eritrea’s Independence Day. After half a century of political and armed struggle, the loss of tens of thousands of civilian lives, immense material and environmental destruction and the sacrifice of 65,000 freedom fighters, the struggle for independence ended with victory. Eritreans conducted the longest liberation war in Africa to ultimately achieve military and political victory. Eritreans’ quest for decolonization was answered with the liberation of Asmara on 24th May 1991.

Tibor Nagy: political maverick with an axe to grind against #Eritrea;
Embassy of the State of Eritrea, Washington, DC; 26 February 2026
*"...The former US Assistant Secretary of State for Africa indeed lacks academic and analytical credentials, and more importantly, personal integrity and honesty as his lop-sided positions and views on the Horn of Africa are often influenced by his lobbying contracts and unorthodox political networks".
*"...In a nutshell, Tibory Nagy digresses to dwell on tangential and distorted narratives primarily and principally because his central objective is to divert attention from the root cause of the current problem: the Ethiopian regime’s willful and deplorable agenda of war and conflict in pursuit of what it calls 'sovereign access to the sea' by invading the sovereign territory of its neighbor. This dangerous act cannot be justified and rationalized by other fallacious pretexts and narratives. Tibor Nagy is not, evidently, in a position to deliver on this account because he is under the beck and call of his financial sponsors; veritable cases, as it were, of 'who pays the piper calls the tune'!"

#Eritrea - Statement by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh at the High-Level Segment of the 61st Session of the Human Rights Council; 24 February, 2026
*"...The Human Rights Council, in particular, bears a distinct and significant responsibility for promoting universal respect for the protection of all human rights and fundamental freedoms. Yet it must be acknowledged, with sincerity, that the Council has not consistently fulfilled this responsibility. At times, its work has been diverted to serve narrow political interests rather than the universal principles it was established to uphold. This trajectory must be reversed. The unheeded continuous erosion of trust among States and the weakening of commitment to multilateral cooperation would be difficult to repair".
*"...Eritrea’s vision is clear. We remain firmly committed to building a prosperous and self-reliant nation in which fundamental rights and freedom, including the right to development, are promoted, protected and respected".
*"...In conclusion, Eritrea reaffirms, with unwavering conviction, its commitment to constructive engagement with this Council and its members with the aim of fostering long-term genuine partnership in the spirit of mutual respect for sovereignty and development. We stand ready to contribute in good faith in the work of this Council, to promote international cooperation, and to work collectively towards the shared ideals of peace, justice, and the inherent dignity of all human beings".
