Back in school I did a practical research on sociology that changed my life.
During that major, one thing I found fascinating about society is how much it reacts to symbols.
⟢ Symbols represent.
⟢ They stand for, carry meaning, emotions, memory, and identity.
Most of the time, we don’t just see them, but forced to feel them, even subconsciously.
This very worldview is what drew me to NFTs way back in 2022, and the very reason it still holds a special place in my heart.
At their foundation, they weren’t just about making quick money. Artists back then created collections that symbolized something, either to themselves or to something bigger.
There was heart in it.
There was soul.
Over time though, a lot of that got lost.
Too many collections became straight money plays, hype cycles, and zero deeper meaning. & it honestly made the space feel emptier than it needed to be.
But it also created wealth.
So I guess you’d say it was a win.
But when you think critically, that transition is exactly what caused the massive decline in NFT culture today.
But this year has sort of been different.
I’ve seen at least 3 collections that feel like they’re going back to what NFTs were supposed to be at the start:
ART.
One of them has me especially excited:
@Frag_Growth by @jenyavyguzov.
Jenya has been a photographer and visual artist for a long time. Most of his work has lived in the pages of Vogue, GQ Style, Tatler, Elle, and L’Officiel. He’s spent years traveling across Europe and Asia, capturing light and texture.
Now he’s bringing that same vision on-chain with Fragments of Growth
Every flower is hand composed from real photographic textures he collected over more than a decade.
It symbolizes growth made from real fragments of lived experience, reassembled with intention.
And that’s what makes it special.
If you’re someone who still cares about soul in digital art, this is one project worth paying attention to.
Whitelist applications are currently open, with supply, pricing, and mint details to be announced.
Genuinely glad to see what’s to come
