Hosting both India's first Prime Minister and India's best Prime Minister - how many schools get that chance? Vidyashala is truly iconic. Nehru, Dr. Kalam, and now Prime Minister Narendra Modi have all spoken at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Mysuru. Wow.
I started watching #MusafirCafe expecting a love triangle.
#Netflix served me an emotional geometry lesson instead.
๐
For the first two episodes I kept asking,
"Can somebody... anyone... make a decision?"
Everyone was looking at everyone.
Thinking about everyone.
Missing everyone.
But saying almost nothing.
Indian parents watching this would probably say,
"Beta... just TALK!"
๐
Then something strange happened.
Around Episode 3...
I stopped waiting for the story.
And started watching the people.
This isn't a series where someone jumps off a cliff.
Nobody hacks the government.
No serial killer.
No drug mafia.
No "Based on true events."
Just three ordinary people...
making the same complicated decisions that millions of us make every day.
Career.
Love.
Timing.
Ego.
Silence.
And those legendary messages we type...
delete...
and never send.
The real villain?
Not a person.
Not society.
Not destiny.
Just...
Timing.
Which, if we're being honest,
has ruined more relationships than any mother-in-law in television history.
๐
Vikrant Massey doesn't act.
He casually walks into the scene and makes you believe he's been living there for years.
Vedika Pinto quietly steals your attention without trying and is in the race of being next national crush.
The mountains are gorgeous.
The cafรฉs make you want to resign from your job.
The rain deserves its own acting credit.
And the background music knows exactly when to stay silent.
Now let's address the elephant sitting in the cafรฉ.
The pacing.
Yes...
It's slow.
Very slow.
Sometimes so slow that your phone starts flirting with you.
Instagram whispers,
"Just one reel..."
You return 15 minutes later...
and the same conversation is still going on.
๐
But somehow...
it works.
Then comes the ending.
Or should I say...
the place where the writers politely stood up, paid the bill, and left.
Everyone else looked around wondering,
"Excuse me... wasn't there another episode?"
๐คฃ
Here's what I realised.
Some people will call Musafir Cafe boring.
Others will call it beautiful.
Both are correct.
Because this series isn't asking,
"What happens next?"
It's asking,
"What if it had happened differently?"
And that's a much harder question to answer.
Maybe that's why it lingers.
Almost all of us have a "what if."
A person we met too early.
Or too late.
A call we never made.
A train we didn't board.
A message we never sent.
A cafรฉ we never walked into.
Ending: "Excuse me... where's the rest?" ๐
If you've watched Musafir Cafe...
tell me honestly.
Did you watch a love story...
or did #Netflix quietly remind you of someone you had successfully forgotten?
