@2ndChancePoints Won’t be talked about much because they won but the Gators only had one field goal in the final 5:30 and it was with 3:14 to go. Houston actually made 3 field goals in that time believe it or not
@2ndChancePoints Because of that segment I made a just for fun parlay (I know silly me) on High Point, Omaha, Montana, American, McNeese, and Central Connecticut at 150-1. Poor CCSU just barely ruined that one. Still appreciate all of the insight!
@BelkReport He was still always terrifying to play against as an Eagles fan because he always had the home run ability but the support just wasn’t there around him to have the holes on any sort of frequent basis. Hopefully it’s a wake up call for the franchise that there’s deeper problems
@BelkReport Well hopefully you can still appreciate Saquon’s greatness. Obviously as a Penn St/Eagles fan it’s extra special but really goes to show how many players can have their careers suffer due to injury and unfortunate situations
@BelkReport And every year they play Ohio State who obviously has their number and is more talented. I just don’t think you can fire Franklin for losing to Ohio State every year
@BelkReport Part of the issue is the Big 10 I think we can both agree has two tiers and almost no “middle”. Franklin’s record against the lower teams obviously is good and unfortunately they rarely ever get a chance to play a team ranked 10-30 ish
@BelkReport That’s fair. I agree it can feel like false hope year over year as a fan. I felt that a few months ago after the Ohio St game especially but in reality I think they played well in the Big 10 championship and in the playoff games too outside of the passing game tonight
@BelkReport But in the current day with the 12 team playoff shouldn’t be the goal to get in the playoff and see what happens? Get as many cracks at the apple as possible. If the expectation is to make the playoffs almost every year I think that’s pretty good
@BelkReport You can of course always go what if but Singleton doesn’t catch the ball in the endzone (4 points) and Carter can’t recover the fumble before half (3 points). That’s 7 points in total right there. It wasn’t as if the game was a complete mismatch
@BelkReport Using 24/7 I see only 3 five star recruits since 2020 (all in 2022) and as you said one was Allar. Abdul Carter wasn’t top 30 at his own position and Warren was a three star recruit. I think they do a great job at identifying talent which people seem to be taking for granted
@BelkReport But it’s not like he has top 5 rosters. His recruiting rankings are consistently around 15 or so and they’re a better team than that. Every other team in the semis has a transfer QB. Penn St fans would have to go at least 5-10 players deep before finding their best transfer
@BelkReport As a Penn St fan/Davidson alum I hate to see this account frequently slander James Franklin. He certainly has flaws as an in game coach but he also performs at least to his talent level year over year without the same resources as the other semi finalists for instance
@2ndChancePoints It’s the product of fouling up 3 being such a good strategy with that amount of time left. If he takes one more dribble he gets fouled. As a result it’s created a worse product for end of games in CBB. Allowing for advancing the ball as they do in women’s would help this greatly
@2ndChancePoints I know why you’re saying this of course but it’s interesting to me coming from you since between Nembhard, Haliburton, Toppin, McConnell, Mathurin they have some of the more fun “college players” of any NBA team imo
