“You will never regret being kind”
Actually yes, I have. When I was kind to people who lied to me…When I was kind to people who stole from me…When I was kind to people who betrayed me…When I was kind to those who manipulated me…When my kindness was a free pass for toxicity.
@hilcrowder@ryancduff This is true. Weeks before my divorce was finalized I watched my ex husband do the crazy sign near the head to my kids after he cornered me in the kitchen and bullied me until I screamed.
Just because a mom has given birth recently doesn’t mean that an emotional breakdown is automatically “postpartum depression”. Be sure to also ask her what else is actually going on. There might be something happening that is circumstantial.
@Utterly_Jean SO RUDE OF HER. I don’t even know you but if I had seen that I would have defended you. What is wrong with that woman? This is something I miss about Portugal. Such a different culture compared to the US in this way. Strangers actually mind their own business. It’s heavenly.
@scopuli@chelzzayy Oh shut up. He didn’t apologize “in earnest”, he concluded that her joy is annoying at the same time he “apologized”. If you think that is genuine then you are part of the problem.
Dear Christians,
If you want to save the world from eternal damnation, you need people skills.
Telling an unbeliever to “just forgive” while they’re having a mental breakdown from abuse is not going to convince them. You come across as an apathetic sociopath.
Telling an unbeliever that you’ll “pray for them” when they’re coming to you asking for advice is not going to convince them. You come across as an apathetic sociopath.
Telling an unbeliever that they need to stay with their husband who’s abusing them is not going to convince them. You come across as an apathetic sociopath.
If you’re looking for a reward, you have it in full.
