PopGen group lead by Prof. Aurélien Tellier @TU_Muenchen. We are combining theoretical and empirical work to study genome evolution in natural populations.
Excited to share our new review in Quantitative Plant Biology:

We discuss how population genomics can move beyond human-centered assumptions to infer life-history traits such as selfing, dormancy, clonality and sweepstakes reproduction.
Our #PhD students are looking forward to meeting with tomorrow's #popgen seminar speaker Aurelien Tellier, who will tell us about "Inference of past demography and life-history traits from genomic and epigenomic polymorphism data"

🧵How do wild tomatoes thrive around the driest place on Earth? 🌵🍅 Let’s dive into our latest research on the evolution of drought response gene networks in Solanum chilense, a wild tomato from South America's arid habitats.
Applying our framework to genome wide data of European humans and Hepatitis C virus strains, we discover new potential human resistance gene and mutations underpinning recent virus adaptations. Our framework bridges theoretical models of GxG interactions w/ host/pathogen data. 5/
Integrating these indices into a Bayesian statistical method allows to pinpoint the genes underlying host-pathogen interactions and infer their genotyping interactions. 4/
Today at #IBC2024 Symposia GENOMICS OF LOCAL ADAPTATION. I will present our work on wild tomatoes 🍅 🌿conducted at @tellierlab
Come to see a nice evolutionary point of view.

We are hiring! 3-yrs Postdoc position in our group at the Research Institute for Limnology, Mondsee @uniinnsbruck. Evolutionary ecology, genomics, invasive species and global change! Find more details here: https://t.co/IxV916TIBM. Please share widely!
I am very honored to have been invited to give a research talk within the Bengalaru Population Genetics and Evolution School this winter in Bangalore (India) among so many great names, like @sarperotto and @MikeWhitlock63!
Many thanks to @DeepaAgashe for this kind invitation!
Great to have been able to participate for the first time at #SOL2023_Montreal! The preprint associated with my presentation on NLR PAV in a wild relative of tomato is now available on Biorxiv: https://t.co/QPZPlBrjLz
