So it’s safe enough for teachers and children to return to school but not safe enough for an election? I don’t understand. Someone please explain this logic.
This makes my heart HURT. The one thing teachers need right now is confidence. We want what is best for our students. Calling virtual learning “TERRIBLE” doesn’t promote confidence in teachers and only serves to promote the hatredDonald Trump has for everyday Americans.
Now that we have witnessed it on a large scale basis, and firsthand, Virtual Learning has proven to be TERRIBLE compared to In School, or On Campus, Learning. Not even close! Schools must be open in the Fall. If not open, why would the Federal Government give Funding? It won’t!!!
State education agencies have an unprecedented opportunity to build trust with their primary stakeholders, the schools, while schools have that same opportunity with their primary stakeholders, their students. I see schools doing just that. States? Your turn.
Just watched Sec. DeVos accuse public schools (falsely, if facts counted) of a failed response to the pandemic as a poorly veiled argument for privatization. Isn’t it strange that the leader of public ed in this country wants to tear it down rather than help make it better?
@realDonaldTrump That’s the most moronic thing you’ve said since yesterday. You’re an idiot. Really, you are an idiot. 50+ million unemployed and over 122,000 dead Americans due to your criminal response to #COVID19 and less testing makes it all go away? Idiot. You’re going to prison, traitor.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but chromebooks and WiFi devices do not create equity in schools. It’s a huge step for schools to take and I know so many students and parents are grateful. But, it does not “level the playing field.” That’s the job of the school building.
10 Zoom Commandments
1. Thou shall not sit under a light with a fan lest you incite others to have a seizure.
2. Thou shalt wear clothes if your camera is on, cover your nakedness.
3. Thou shalt mute thyself if you are not speaking, especially if you have the sniffles or gas.
Great news! The Texas Department of Ag. has received a waiver that allows parents to pick up free school meals without their children present. We hope this change helps more families.

A real president would answer:
We will tap into the immense talents of the American people to find effective treatments and a vaccine and produce all the ventilators and gear we need.
We’ll respect and care for each other even at a distance.
That‘s how we’ll get through this.
