Market studies for various value chains need to be done adequately. The Ministry of Trade and Industry would be key to look at Trade. Ministry of Labour needs to look into vocational training that produces manpower needed by new labour market to be demanded by mega farms.

What is the strategy to create markets? What lessons have we learnt from the greenbelt initiative?

All in all I believe the mega farms model is the right thing for Malawi. What is needed is to do a detailed feasibility study for long term solutions.

What would the correct approach to achieve long term goal of mega farms? What will be the role of smallholder farmers in the model? What have we embedded in the model to absorb unskilled labour currently in subsistence farming? What will be the role of urban centers in the model?
