I’m sorry but she is not a pleasant person if she said this to your face. Yoruba women literally set the fashion trends in Nigeria and no other ethnic group should have the guts to say we typically don’t look well put together. Especially not someone benefiting from Yoruba culture. We are literally the blueprint.
People should be able to have one job, save money after their priorities in spending, and live life. They should be able to go to restaurants, out, on holiday if they choose to — not have to pick up 3/4 other jobs to make ends meet. It’s a travesty this is normal.
under a post of traders protesting is a Shein Advert…
ironically, i was just thinking of how shein,Temu, ali express & co have already entered the market with the extra convenience of free delivery to your door.
This is how streaming creeped in on Alaba music Biz.
OBS.
Btw, it’s emotional intelligence to keep the terrible things people say about your friend to yourself. You don’t have to tell her everything. Sometimes you can hear something and know it will hurt her, and the kindest thing to do is simply keep it to yourself.
i'm the person who says "for what?" when someone apologizes because some people say sorry just to shut you up. i want you to acknowledge exactly what you did
@yojora While it's wrong to stop anyone's legitimate business, I'm scared of dumping by the Chinese.
The ministry of trade and investment needs to create policies that will ensure they establish factories here rather than dumping.
After love, friendship is one of the words we use most carelessly. Not everyone is your friend. These folks here are not her friends at all.
Even if one does a very low key secret wedding, it's not supposed to take up to five months without any of your friends not knowing about it until you make an announcement about it on your birthday five months after. Don't they visit one another at all? Don't they hangout randomly? Don't they have some random phone conversations?
I won't even feel offended if I was here. I'll only learn to know my place in such person's life, going forward.
End of which friendship?
Person wey don help me save money. We're not ending the friendship and you'll also receive my own good news years after it has happened. Sometimes it's only good to give people a taste of their own medicine while maintaining the fake friendship. Let the most wicked win and the weak walk away. Tchewwww

You guys don’t want to tell your friends your travel plans, don’t want to let them know you’re getting married and somehow you’re still calling these people your friends. There’s a certain level of entitlement that is actually necessary in genuine friendships. If you believe your friends are monitoring spirits or witches who will somehow ruin your plans simply because they know about them before they happen, then perhaps they’re not really your friends. Please let us start using the word ACQUAINTANCE more.
The love Wizkid has around the world is not normal.
You can disappear from timelines, skip interviews, cancel dates, stay quiet for months, and people will still argue over him like the album dropped yesterday. London. Accra. Toronto. Atlanta. Lagos. Paris. Somebody somewhere is still playing Essence like it is new. Somebody is still waiting for Joro live. Somebody is still saving money for a night that has not been announced.
That is the part people keep underestimating.
Wizkid does not have to be everywhere to be everywhere. The catalogue already did the touring. Made In Lagos still walks into rooms he has not entered in years. One hook and a whole diaspora starts singing in an accent that is not even theirs. That is not PR. That is possession.
And still the fans are tired of loving him from a distance.
They do not want another festival cameo. They do not want a clip. They want the full thing. Lights. Band. The old songs. The new songs. The moment where 20,000 people lose their minds at the first drum of Come Closer. They have been begging for that run. Proper dates. Proper cities. No disappearing act in the middle.
Because scattered shows are not a tour. A headline slot is not a tour. A December night in Lagos is not enough for a man whose music lives on five continents.
The hunger is loud for a reason. When an artist is this loved, absence does not kill the love. It makes it desperate. People start counting years. People start saying “just one.” People start posting old concert videos like scripture.
That is Wizkid’s real flex.
He can go quiet and the world still keeps a seat for him.
Now he should take the seat.
@wizkidayo should give us the tour. Give us the nights we have been begging for. Let the love stop living only in comment sections and start living in arenas again.
One of my biggest problems in life is that I take what people say to me quite seriously.
I still struggle with the fact that people can be unnecessarily and unbearably dishonest.
In fact, most of my suffering stems from this.
Hot take. But i don’t know why women are obsessed with spotless and glass skin. You’re not a newborn baby. You’ll have spots, hyperpigmentation and so on. It’s all part of aging and enjoying life. Mind you, I’m not saying a good skin isn’t good.
