@shutupmac_mn I am very sorry. My siblings and I went through the exact same thing with my Dad last year. It is so hard. Glad you will be with your Mom. Our Mom predeceased our Dad by 13 years 😢so I know how hard it is for the surviving partner. Thinking of you both.

At the very least our English or other heavy take home work subjects class sizes should have been capped reasonably to even out the work loads some. Still did after school stuff and I never sat down in class.

@WabKinew I am jealous in ON. I hate Daylight Savings Time because robbing Peter to pay Paul with daylight :1) gives you no more actual daylight 2) screws up sleep schedules for at least 2 weeks each time 3) is abrupt unlike nature's slower seasonal changes 4) has no upsides. You get it!

@ESL_fairy Yes yes and yes especially. This was a factor in my early retirement from teaching. I could not fail my students with substandard tools. It is especially hard to teach a second language without paper for the kinesthetic learning of writing versus typing or clicking boxes.

I agree that a potential position as associate member ( new creation) is unknown territory. Waiting to hear more before judging is rational.
