@jubdubs imo yeah, if we compare to 2019-2022: great releases on disciple/nsd/halcyon, emergence of net labels, a ton of new sounds and growth in all musical directions... live shows having less weight because of the pandemic gave a lot of musical freedom for people to experiment with
@barebonesdub yes absolutely. if you like it and it was fun to make, who cares 💜 we can't always be pushing boundaries 24/7, it's totally ok to just make something fun and dumb and not necessarily groundbreaking

@HexCougar Solid theory. I think the first couple years of covid produced incredible music despite similar conditions at the time, so I tend to gravitate towards the idea that it's more due to the hyper-commodification of dance music over the last couple years - nostalgia just sells better
