A few weeks ago, Kane Parsons, the director of Backrooms, shared that his vision was shaped more by web series and video games like Portal and Half-Life than by traditional Hollywood moviemaking.

Some of the movie's elements were inspired by Rattmann's drawings on the walls in Portal. He also mentioned that directing a feature-film adaptation of Portal would be his dream.

Today, he posted a photo from Valve's office on his Instagram story. Just a visit, or is Valve going to let him cook after J.J. Abrams abandoned the project?

He was just 20 years old at the time of the interview.
