I pulled out my phone to take a photo of this large gathering and they shouted at me to put my phone away and turn around. Thankfully, I was far enough away that it wasn’t worth their effort to chase me down.

Their handiwork was front page news in the SCMP the next day. They destroyed traffic lights, tram tracks, guard rails, store fronts from Causeway to Wanchai.

The Americans turned the safest city I had ever lived in into a war zone.

Hong Kong: what Western media didn’t want to hear

I write this as Joshua Wong faces a possible life sentence for treason and colluding with foreign forces.
The West is already preparing the halo. Spare me.
In 2019 I stood at Tamar Square in Hong Kong and said what the cameras did not want to hear.
This was not a “pro-democracy movement.” It was a US color-revolution attempt. NED, USAID, Soros networks, Western politicians and a handful of local proxies tried to turn a real extradition-bill dispute into chaos — smash the city, break One Country Two Systems, and use Hong Kong as a dagger against China.
I lived it. I spoke against it. We fought the funded rioters who wanted the city in flames. Death threats followed. Fine. I was not there to please Western editors.
Wong was never a student hero. He was a useful face for an “international battlefront”: lobby Pelosi, Rubio and the rest, beg for sanctions, invite foreign pressure on his own city. That is not dissent. That is inviting an empire into your house and calling it freedom. Collusion has a name. Now it has a courtroom.
Color revolutions are not freedom. They are regime-change software.
Same playbook every time:
• hijack a genuine grievance
• flood money, training, slogans, cameras
• escalate from protest to violence
• install a government that answers to Washington and the NGO machine
• strip sovereignty and call it “values”
Ukraine is the textbook. Maidan was sold as Europe and dignity. What it delivered was a captured state, NATO as religion, and a country turned into a proxy. That path led straight to war. A color revolution on a fault line does not “liberate.” It prepares the battlefield.

Last year the same circus hit Nepal. Youth anger at corruption was real. Then Discord mobilization, burned ministries, a government toppled in days. And the usual clowns — self-proclaimed “China experts” — cheered like it was a festival.
Why? Because they told the story people already wanted to hear. No research. No history of how these operations end. They wanted to look cool. They wanted views at the expense of truth. That is not analysis. That is content. With influence comes responsibility. They had the first and dumped the second.
Look at Japan. Look at the Philippines. That is the finished product when the operation works: not always tanks in the streets — bases, treaties, media, a political class that treats US priorities as destiny. Tools of the empire.
I cannot highlight this enough.
These revolutions are evil because they steal the one thing a people must never outsource: the right to solve their own problems. Sovereignty is the foundation of any real democracy. Without it you get a flag, a parliament, and a foreign handler.

Hong Kong 2019 was the warning.
Ukraine was the cost.
Nepal was the encore the pundits still applauded. Joshua Wong’s trial is the reminder that inviting foreign force against your own country is not activism. It is betrayal.

May this era of meddling end. Self-determination. Peace. Mutual prosperity. Sovereignty above all.

In fact, his son and the rest of the Delcy puppet regime are so confident that he won't do it, that they use clips of him and his own account and photos of him in prison that miraculously they have access to, to gleefully launder their permanent enslavement to the Kushner/Witkoff empire.

What was Maduro doing in the months leading up to that bullshit spectacle "kidnapping" hoax?

He was openly dancing out in the streets, in public, on stages.

After there had been multiple assassination attempts on him when he was out in public doing the same thing, most famously the drone strike attempt.

Why was he so confidently dancing and doing the wrestler heel act without any worry in the world as the US moved its navy close to Venezuela and threatened to bomb and destroy it and kill him?

Because he was playing his part. It was all fake. It was a hoax.

The "deal" he proposed to the US months before that hoax kidnapping had been accepted, but the Kushner/Witkoff Trump regime as well as the new puppet regime in Venezuela they were about to enslave needed a story, an alibi, and, most crucially, they needed a propaganda spectacle showcasing the supposedly overwhelming power and superiority of the Kushner/Witkoff empire ahead of the planned Iran war.

So they concocted this entire hoax for that purpose.

If it hadn't been a hoax, Maduro would be dead right now because he would have to be permanently silenced, and other leading members of the Venezuelan government would have been eliminated too.

Notice how there was no fake bullshit "kidnapping" of Khamenei. They murdered him, because there is no such thing as an epic based 100 dimensional chess operation of flying helicopters over Caracas and evading all military counter-reaction and magically being able to kidnap a president without incurring a single loss or even a single bullet fired in your direction. That's not real. You would have to be a fucking moron to think that's real, in other words, the entire US-Western media and political class.

Instead, all you had was a fake kidnapping of him and of course also his wife because he can't be left alone while they're doing a fake bullshit trial before they release him either at the end of his term or sometime after.

The only real aspect of it was the Cuban personal guards being mass murdered, but this was likely not done by the US, this was done by the Venezuelan puppet regime itself. They betrayed them. They turned on them and murdered them as they did not suspect it with a bullet to the head. My critique of modern radical liberal "abolitionism”: Today’s self-described “abolitionists” claim to be revolutionary while tending to condemn all the means needed to make a revolution.

Police and prison abolitionism emerged from the 2020 uprising as supposedly the most radical position to identify with. The impulse of this position is correct, but its essence is wrong.

That is, police in the US emerged directly out of the institution of chattel slavery; the first police patrols were slave catchers; police serve as the domestic foot soldiers of imperialism, occupying the internal colonies. Of course, US prisons/police should be abolished in the sense that the settler colonial, white supremacist, state apparatus of the so-called United States should be dismantled.

And of course, prisons/policing are not a pleasant experience anywhere in the world (that’s kind of the point...), and I do not doubt that there are some people unjustly imprisoned and abused in every country in the world.

That does not mean that all prisons/policing across the world carry the same class or racial character as the US system, or that they are all inherently reactionary. Whether the US system should be abolished and whether vastly different carceral systems everywhere should be abolished are two very distinct questions that, I argue, do not have the same answer.

Today's abolitionism in practice seems perfectly compatible with attacking imperialism’s enemies and reforming the imperialist state no matter how much it claims to want to “abolish” it.

The US and its empire should be abolished. The systems leading to mass poverty, mental illness, crime, and imprisonment should be dismantled. The oppressors and war criminals at the helm of those systems should face justice and severe punishment. Prisons that do still exist in a post-revolutionary world for regular crimes should be focused on rehabilitation, not endless cycles of incarceration.

Authority exists, and revolution means seizing and maintaining it by force. To reject that starting point is to have lost before even beginning to fight.
