19 years after I struggled to focus in my 7:30 a.m. chemistry class at @FCHSLambkins and thought "is this really the best way to learn," my research on #schoolstarttimes has resulted in policy change in CA!

According to Teny Shapiro of @SantaClaraUniv: "Delaying secondary school start times can be a cost-effective policy to improve students’ grades and test scores." Find out why in her article: https://t.co/OJ7nBoh5KT #sleep#secondaryeducation#education#school
@nj_sanders Rate my professor had some interesting stats and visuals at some point. It’s not from a causal analysis but it’s gotten audible reactions from audiences I’ve shown them to.
Why a PhD is bad for startups:
-Drawn to obscure areas for novelty
-Prefer theoretical elegance to practical complexity
-Obsess about few problems for long periods
-Peer relationships lack trust, require proof
Why a PhD is good:
-You're use to being poor and treated like shit
If you can’t start classes later, you can at least arrange them to work in the students’ favor. PE and non-STEM early in the morning with breaks throughout the day. Struggling students will benefit the most. Great work, @KevFromOakland! #SchoolStartTimes https://t.co/ttUA0kDZBG
Slack is looking for undergraduate interns for next summer. Pass this on to any students who want to learn how we use data to build a better product and user experience. https://t.co/mnIb9RKLBn

@manishsinhaha So much good stuff in there. This trend is changing the makeup of our society. By waiting longer to have kids, educated families end up “skipping” a generation. So while these families can provide more opportunities for their kids, there will be fewer kids. This has consequences.
