The Director General of NITDA, @KashifuInuwa, received the Managing Director of the South South Development Commission (SSDC), Ms. Usoro Akpabio, on a courtesy visit, reaffirming NITDA’s full commitment to partnering with the Commission.
The DG noted that SSDC’s objectives align with NITDA’s strategic roadmap, emphasising that digital literacy and talent development remain the foundation of Nigeria’s digital economy, with a national target of 95% digital literacy by 2030 and an interim goal of 70% by 2027.
Inuwa highlighted NITDA’s ongoing interventions in digital skills for students, civil servants, NYSC members, and youth, stressing that technology is no longer a vertical sector but a critical enabler across all areas of the economy from energy and agriculture to finance, security, and governance.
He further underscored the importance of strengthening cybersecurity, building trust in digital platforms, revitalising existing ICT infrastructure, and fostering innovation and startup ecosystems that create jobs and solve local challenges.
Assuring the SSDC of NITDA’s support, he stated that collaboration, coordination, and shared implementation frameworks are essential to achieving inclusive digital transformation, adding that ‘no institution can succeed in isolation,’ and pledged that NITDA will work closely with the Commission to deliver sustainable, people centred digital development across the South South region.
Big visions fail because small steps are ignored.
People love grand ideas but overlook daily discipline.
But strong structures are built brick by brick.
Master the small, and the big will hold.

I reject the increased electricity tariffs. Coming out of the lockdown, Nigerians need a stimulus, not an impetuous disregard for the challenges they face. Many Nigerians have not earned an income for months, due to no fault of theirs. This increase is ill-timed and ill-advised.
