@notch The normal and non-extremeist way to look at this is it's just a tool.

Use whatever tools at your disposal to assist you with your engineering work.

For some people, it's hard to grasp that's different than being unimaginative and having AI generate assets for you.

It's not the lack or addition of style, it's the shit cohesion of direction, recycling of the same game, and ignoring feedback.

@0xSero This morning I swapped from using 5.1 in terminal to composer because it's gotten slower and significantly dumber the past couple of days. I pay for both but use them for different things, sometimes concurrently. I've done this with 5.0 and 4.7 too. Maybe an update's coming soon?

Naked Gun (2025) was a letdown. By no means was it a bad film, it just doesn’t compare to the original. I feel like the reviews are artificially inflated, at least the early ones. 90% on rotten tomatoes?? Really??? A 9/10 movie? There were maybe 5 good laughs in the whole film.

@JVal48103 As a car guy, I thought this was neat. I bought this thing on Etsy in 2022 and it's practically never left my pocket, even when I'm working, dirty and moving a lot. It's still held up.

@EngDeptTV @ThePepeKong @DudespostingWs Typically a carbide bit in a die grinder to make a hole in the center of the broken bolt. Sometimes an extractor bit in that hole to free it is enough, sometimes with added heat, but sometimes the entire thing must be drilled out and replaced with a threaded insert or similar.

@visavisachan Put two hard-boiled eggs in a bag with a bit of water and tie it around your waist. It'll be a bit bigger than what it actually is, but it should be similar enough.

They do squish very slightly. The amount of force that would break the egg would be way past the point of pain tho

@ZacksJerryRig There's no realistic towing scenario that would apply a snapping force like that on top of the abuse that happened prior. This failure would never happen to you.

But this is concerning for trucks that have been in accidents and incorrectly repaired, especially since it's cast.
