most people arent burnt out. theyre bored.
burnout from a mission you believe in doesnt exist, has never existed for the obsessed. what exists is the soul rotting from spending 40 hours a week on something that doesnt matter.
you dont need rest. you need a war.
“You forgive yourself by realizing that nobody can act beyond their level of consciousness.”
- Eckhart Tolle
Everyone who wronged you was operating at the ceiling of what they could perceive in that moment;
Every version of you that you’re ashamed of was doing the best a less conscious mind could do…
Which means the only real apology you owe yourself is to keep raising the ceiling.
With literally endless information at their fingertips, people are in for a (rude) awakening - it was never about the lack of info. Your biggest blockers are/were almost never about not having the information.
The actual bottleneck is the mind + nervous system. As people start to realize this, it'll feel very disorienting - because it demands a total change, and doing the exact things you've been avoiding your entire life.
Not necessarily a bad time - it can be flourishing time if you resist it zero. Most will choose to distract themselves. Others will ascend. There's no rush.
Sad thing is that most of these people are 20–27yo Gen Z trying to impress their friends by “travelling the world” and cosplaying a rich lifestyle, while not saving or building anything substantial for their life.
They’ll proudly say they’ve been to 50+ countries, when in reality they spent 7 days in each and just executed the TikTok itinerary they saved before coming.
The algorithm chooses the place, the pose, the restaurant and the caption. They just show up and perform it.
Everyone's consistently getting mad that this is happening, but it's only because the world has gotten immensely richer. And too many of these travel-obsessed types are middle-class ppl cosplaying as wealthy bc they can "travel the world" now.
You are just not rich enough to /actually/ escape the crowds anymore - that's why you're upset. You've been clocked as middle class, you are getting a middle class experience, and surprise, you don't like it.
Elon on Speed
“I always tell the teams: compress the timeline. Take a 10 year plan and try to do it in 6 months. You’ll probably fail, but you’ll be so far ahead of everyone else that it doesn’t matter. Most companies move at a glacial pace. We try to move at the speed of light.”
The fastest way to change your life is to rip yourself out of your (physical and digital) environment. Change everything overnight. The places you go, the accounts you follow, the info you consume, etc. It's difficult but it absolutely works.
as a man, you want to be evaluated in a setting you define. not in someone else’s marketplace, not in a feed. & certainly not on some dumb app.
basically you want to make sure it’s not in a room where the ranking system rewards the shallowest possible read of you, like a police lineup.
what you need a backdrop that reveals what is actually compelling about you like your taste, your judgment, your discipline, your humor, your presence, & most important your way of seeing the world.
if you let modern systems define the frame, they will reduce you to the most superficial version of yourself & then judge you for it.
