Chuffed to announce that our @IndependentSage website has been revamped and made more accessible/searchable, and generally more swish! Huge effort led by the brilliant @chrischirp.
We hope it serves as a useful resource both looking back, and forwards.

As Module 4 of the @CovidInquiryUK begins, attention turns to the Covid vaccines…
And it just happens that UKHSA’s annual accounts for 2023/24 have recently been published, revealing that a staggering £1.09 BILLION were wasted on unused vaccines during 2023/24.

Reduction of classroom assistants is really concerning.
Is this in keeping with proposals in the restrictive practices consultations where ‘supportive practice’ AKA Mechanical restraint becomes a permanent substitute for classroom assistants. Has history taught the DE nothing?
@RyanHendry94 @SENreformNI@paulgivan Removing 1-1 Classroom Assistants will make things worse. Disabled children will be treated as a nuisance if they don’t have this help. They will be pushed in to special schools when there’s no need for it. Why doesn’t he provide proper training for CA’s?
@tescoshopper@AlanStout19 I think all the Health Trusts should clarify their position if changes are being made to unpaid carer covid vaccination eligibility.
@Chris_McClem@AlanStout19 SEHSCT posted on FB yesterday and it looks like carers are now included. But you need to scroll down through the info to see it. They need to do better with their info, because carers could turn up and be refused.
Former NHS trust chair, Roy Lilley hits the nail on the head on @SkyNews this morning outlining what is wrong with UKHSA messaging which fails to recognise that #COVID_19 is airborne and the importance of #masksinhealth and #ventilation
1. Emergency care in Northern Ireland has essentially collapsed. This was eminently predictable, especially considering the high incidence of influenza in the region at this point. The cause is multi-factorial.

@em093NI Utterly disgraceful. I hope this poor girl &your family recover from this. PSNI got huge amount of money for training re #AutismAwareness a few years ago so there’s no excuse for this.
[10 Dec 2024] Opening Remarks from @DrTedros at WHO media briefing:
“We cannot talk about COVID in the past tense.
“It’s still with us, it still causes acute disease and Long COVID, and it still kills.
“The world might want to forget about COVID-19, but we cannot afford to.”
