@eivissacopter Is this because the China-made packs contain fewer cells, or is there some software-level capacity locking (buffer) involved? Would love to hear your insights!
@eivissacopter I noticed a discrepancy in battery capacities. For the Giga Shanghai versions (China-made 3P, 3LR, and YLR), the 5M pack is rated at 78.8 kWh, and the 5N pack for the YL is only 82 kWh. However, global data for 5M/5N often suggests higher figures (e.g., 82kWh and 88kWh).
@eivissacopter regarding the Model 3 Performance (Highland), how can I confirm if it’s equipped with the 5M battery pack? Also, what is the typical 100% EPA range displayed on the screen, and what is the exact curb weight for this specific configuration? Thanks for the great insights!
@lateefsanu93119 The Backpack Man Who Brings Misfortune:
A pro must be willing to be coached. But when this man with the backpack whispers to you, you’re doomed to lose the match.
@eivissacopter I’m more concerned about whether the LG5M battery, like Panasonic’s, supports a 3P configuration with 510 horsepower, while the old battery could only discharge up to 460 horsepower.
@eivissacopter If the YL uses the same LG5M battery as the Y, it’s clearly unreasonable. The YL has 275mm rear wheels with a CLTC range of 751km, while the Y has 255mm wheels on both front and rear with a CLTC range of 750km. With the same battery, the Y should have a longer range.
