🎥How good are you really?
The Universal Rating System tells you exactly where you are on the entire spectrum of the sport - taking into account the entire picture of your skill set.

In your hypothetical model, how would you "give kids clear strengths and areas to improve"?
The most common format we hear is a subjective 1-5 rating in a google sheet. Not deliverable. Not trackable.
The "reducing an 8-year-old to a number" sentiment is an incredible common objection. We've seen that measuring and tracking improvement is highly motivating. We facilitate communication between parents and coaches.
Our numbers are based on the actual skills of the game and are time-based which ties directly into instruction and game play.
Amateur baseball and softball are completely broken and we are unaccepting of the current state of the game.
This is the solution.
I’m so excited to have it out in the open and start talking about it.
🚨Introducing the very first Universal Rating System - the first standard that defines what good means.
Using objective, time-based assessments, our platform can now evaluate a player's ENTIRE skillset in ways that were previously impossible.

We are tracking all levels. Think about the second rating, not the first rating. Seeing progress. Having clear paths to improvement, taking action and getting results.
When I was 8, there weren’t options to play in national events with rankings.
There is no national, local or regional consideration here. Just one scale. No “good 8u team” in this world.
Honesty for the player and parent. Alignment in where you stand in the game, not in whatever big or small pond you’re in.
@theEvidenceDesk@InsightsCollege How are you currently addressing “poor coaching and uninformed parents”? I’d love to understand your approach to the problem.
What is the basis of your education? How do you create buy in? What type of feedback are you getting from coaches and parents?
I’ll wait.
Yes. Our co-founder is a former MLB player. We have one in sales too. 😄
It is universal to the entire sport, not to a specific level like players trying to play in college or 20/80 which only applies to MLB level.
It is time-based. How fast you play. Could be considered very traditional actually.
Every player ever who has participated in the sport falls on the scale.
Also, it is a rating. Not a ranking. Me vs me, me vs the sport. Not me vs others.
We have been piloting #PeloteroURS in recent weeks at 12-17u tryouts. Here is the actual data we have been making available to participants -- incredibly meaningful to players/parents. Play with organizations that will make you better and measure it.
Congratulations to Pelotero, our long-time partner, on the launch of Universal Rating System. We piloted this in recent tryouts and the data for players and evaluators exactly what we need for position players.
@InsightsCollege College and draft stuff has ripple effects.
We partner with organizations and train coaches to college data within standards. The data must be trustworthy.
Tech-wise... you have a phone? You can do it.
@InsightsCollege My daughters are at the younger levels (8u and 10u) this fall. We did the entire 8u team in the spring and feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
Parents need to be in the loop. They need fundamentals. Warmups have to be better. This drives that.
The Magenta Ball is a huge story of the night.
If I don't wake up to a billion articles and think pieces and opinions about how Baseball Gods turn into mere mortals when you make half the ball T-Mobile branded...
"He (Caglianone) started going oppo and it got him locked in."
Uhh, yeah.
Especially for a swing with a "heavy" elbow slot and the barrel wants to slide deep and come around quick.
