When I took the Oath of Enlistment as a young Marine, those words etched themselves into my soul:
"I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."
It wasn’t just a recitation—it was a covenant. We were drilled relentlessly that our loyalty was to the brotherhood of the Marine Corps and to that document above all else, a timeless blueprint for freedom forged by visionaries who risked everything.
Our service to the Commander in Chief was our way of honoring the American people’s will, expressed through the democratic process that placed him—or her—in that role. Politics was civilian territory. In uniform, we were guardians, not partisans.
It was drilled into us that discussing politics in the barracks, on the range, or anywhere else was off-limits. We didn’t know—and didn’t care—if the Marine next to us voted red, blue, or wrote in their dog’s name. Unity came from shared sacrifice, from the blood that bound us as brothers and sisters in arms, not from ballot-box divisions.
I remember it vividly: after a casual conversation about an upcoming election slipped out, my captain pulled me aside. “Marine,” he said, “keep that shit-talk locked down. Don’t discuss politics with other Marines. Voting’s your right, but in this uniform, you’re a Marine—the mission and the man to your left and right.” I nodded, internalized it, and carried that ethos forward. It shaped me, teaching that true strength lies in rising above the fray, executing orders with unyielding focus, even when the world outside the wire was a storm of ideologies.
I embraced it fully, seeing voting not just as a right but as a sacred extension of our duty. Yet, as the years passed, I watched that apolitical code get warped, twisted by forces that eroded the very foundations we swore to uphold.
It struck deepest during Barack Obama’s tenure, when I felt a gnawing in my gut that the chain of command was steering us wrong—a charlatan whose policies chipped away at our liberties, emboldened adversaries abroad, and sowed discord at home. I wanted desperately to embody the heroes I’d idolized: the stoic warriors who followed orders without question, looking up to their commanders as paragons of integrity. But conscience clashed with protocol. Deep down, I knew he needed to be opposed, lawfully defeated at the polls or through the checks and balances our Founders designed.
My oath silenced me in service. I couldn’t let politics poison the ranks—but once out, the truth poured forth: something fundamental was breaking when service members felt torn between their moral compass and the chain of command, all because the helm was held by someone who seemed intent on betraying the values we bled for.
Reflecting now, I wish I’d served under leaders like President Donald Trump and a Secretary of Defense like Pete Hegseth—men of honor who revere the Constitution not as a relic, but as a living shield for liberty. These are the kinds of men our young warriors look up to, the ones we’d follow without hesitation, much like the Founding Fathers who led with reluctant duty rather than ambition.
They don’t seek the job for power’s sake; it’s a calling from a higher power—God, providence, fate, whatever you hold sacred—that draws them in. They aren’t driven by wealth (Trump, already a billionaire, sacrificed fortunes in the arena); they aren’t chasing fame (both endured relentless smears for stepping up); they don’t crave the spotlight or the burdens. They do it because they must, because the Republic demands it, and in that selflessness lies their strength.
Under such command, internal conflicts fade—loyalty aligns with conscience, and the mission becomes a crusade for what’s right.
This matters profoundly because it’s the antidote to the rot we’ve seen. When leaders embody that ethos, our service members aren’t divided; they’re inspired. They fight not for a person, but for principles that transcend elections. And that’s why, even in the darkest hypotheticals, I know our Constitution and Republic will endure. If the worst unfolds—if unchecked tyranny pushes us toward a second Civil War—it won’t mirror the brother-against-brother tragedy of the first.
No, it’d echo the Revolutionary War: a righteous stand against oppression, where patriots rise to cast off chains imposed by elites who cloak their overreach in virtue-signaling (every leftist of the modern day).
The left pretends innocence, decrying “fascism” while wielding censorship, economic coercion, and institutional capture—hallmarks of the very tyranny they project onto others. But history shows: when true leaders heed the call, the people rally, and freedom prevails.
We’ve strayed far from that apolitical ideal, but we can reclaim it. This is just the start—join me as we unpack how we got here, explore the nuances of oaths in divided times, and chart a path back to unity under principled command.

Islamic scholar Mohammad Nusairat in Chicago drops the mask:
“We did NOT come here to coexist. We are superior to everyone else and will not be surpassed. No one is above us. If other religions want to live with us, they have to worship Allah”
@SaltyGoat17 Sounds like treason and sedition to me. @grok what are the most likely outcomes if the mayor attempts to block, hinder or interfere with, in any way, the federal government removing illegals from New York City
Leftists are gaining traction within the Democrat Party by embracing anti-Western, third world ideologies.
What makes this all the more absurd is it is happening while we are commemorating the 250th anniversary of the most successful revolution in human history — a revolution whose tenets are irreconcilable with such ideologies.
@RonDeSantis I find that this kind of ignorance and institutional, religious corruption can only be corrected with and by someone willing to yield a THE hammer of righteousness — i.e. Hammer this B*tch into reality!
